Want to know why a low elevation cut wet on curly hair will dry looking like layers?
In a graduation, the sections above each other increase in length, making the top being the longest. But the longer hairs have more “spring” in them, so they compress more and so when dry, they appear to be only slightly longer or the same length as the sections below.
The square shape is used to make sure that the hair behind the ears is longer than the center, compensating with the hairline that goes up behind the ear.

Why is that step happening around the face when layering and how to fix it!?
Whenever we cut using elevation, the hairline will define the perimeter of that area. To fix this, use very low elevation, as close to natural fall as possible, and cut a vertical line while overdirecting the hair towards the chin.

What is a highlifter !? A permanent color that only knows to lighten the hair and it does it better than regular permanent color. The advantage is that it lightens and tone at the same time and the disadvantage is that it can only be used on natural virgin hair.
In this case I used Koleston Perfect 12/81 + 12/22 + 0/28
