After my lampshade making class last week, all the lampshades that I have at home suddenly seemed so plain and uninteresting! As I have a lot of beautiful fabrics at home, I decided to give them a makeover!

The first one is this black lampshade 40cm x 20 cm height. I wanted to make the inside more colourful and interesting. So I choose this Japanese fabric with traditional geisha motifs.

The steps are really simple and it took me less than an hour to do.

What I used:
- double side polyphane for lampshades
- Japanese geisha motifs fabric (about 127cm x 18cm)
- scissors
- my old lampshade was 40cm diameter x 20cm height

I am making some new ceramic lamps but it takes much longer…

In the meantime, I am going to change all my lampshades at home! by @floraceramique

Day 17 - China Shanghai - New shopping and recreation area at Hong Qiao area - Panlong Xintiandi - traditional Chinese style buildings full of restaurants, crafts shops, and playgrounds for kids! Very nice!

Shanghai is becoming nicer and nicer with a lot of new museums, multi-functional shopping areas. These places are very photogenic and attracted a lot of young tourists who can take nice photos and share on social media.

Day 16 - China Jingdezhen- results of our wooden kiln firing. All the pieces survived! Normally it is only 50% so great results! We did a “naked” firing because no glaze was applied. The shiny surfaces are due to the wood ashes which acted as natural glaze, like thousands of years ago!
