The Yellow House brings together migration across borders and the body as a home that travels with the person. It explores how identity and belonging evolve through movement, shaped by the places people leave behind, the memories they carry, and the new roots they grow. by @florgodwardart

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) this Sunday.

The presence of each of you was essential to the activation. This work happens through the presence and immersion of the public.

Thank you for being there with us, for sharing your presence, and for being part of this moment.

I’m not from here, I’m not from there, I’m from everywhere.

To migrate is cross oneself. The body becomes home, breathe becomes shelter, presence, becomes ground.
In movement we become home.

Who knows what we’ll become?

Every child holds infinite possibilities. Before fame or infamy, there is innocence—a life still unwritten.

What shapes us: nature, nurture, circumstance, or choice? Is our story given to us, or do we create it along the way?

Childhood, identity, and the mystery of who we become are at the heart of my artistic narrative. They are the language through which I explore the human condition.

“The Blue Beetle” 2026 watercolor on paper

At the center, an iridescent blue beetle — demanding to be seen before it disappears. Around it, fireflies in decline, a morpho butterfly, native herbs and leaves floating weightlessly. This piece doesn’t mourn passively. It catalogues with love — the way a naturalist pressed specimens into journals, hoping someone would remember what once lived here.

The Vivification Of The Sparrows” (2024) acrylic and ceramic on wood.

The boy Jesus, five years old, playing by a stream. He molds twelve sparrows from clay on the Sabbath. A Pharisee sees and scolds him for working on the holy day. Jesus claps his hands and says “Go!” — and the clay birds take flight, alive, crying out.

Before the cross, before the water, before the wine — a boy by a stream, making birds from mud. And they flew.

The “Casita” became a threshold.

Between bodies and memory,
between what is left behind and what is carried.

Migration is not only movement across land,
but across the self.

What unfolded was collective…
