NEW VIDEO! 🔥 This one is from our newest album „Quiet Lights“ and features maestro @bill.frisell on one of the most beautiful tunes from Switzerland „Lueget vo Berg und Tal“. 1st August marks the national holiday of Switzerland, so I thought there is no better day to post this one... Quiet Lights is out today!

Recording this trio with jazz legends Greg Osby and Bill Frisell was, for me, a dream come true!

As much as it was a huge privilege and joy to record, it was also a challenge to create music that fits the mastery of Bill and Greg. They have played so much beautiful and exciting music in their long careers that I really struggled to create something meaningful that isn’t just a copy of the amazing music they have already made before…

After much thought, I decided to create simple, but sound-wise very defined and slightly unusual settings to fit the sounds of Bill’s guitar and Greg’s sax.

I’m really happy and quite proud of the final result - I'd love to hear what you think!

What a great memory!

Back in Covid times with my band Convergence, which features Jorge & Maikel Vistel, Jim Hart, Nelson Veras, Rafael Jerjen and myself.

What a moment to be on tour again after weeks of being stuck at home!

It doesn't happen so often that I immediately get captured by a musician by just hearing him/her on a record. And I think this is a big link for me to Joāo Barradas, Tineke Postma and Rafael Jerjen who were my partners in crime for Conversation #5.

I share many musical highlights with my brother Michael, but to be joined by the maestro Ron Carter himself to explore new ways of playing my tune "Evolution" and find those notes was just pure heaven! by @florianarbenz
