9 Uhr 20.9.2026 Der Ofen ist nun aus, sein ersatz wird schon vorbereitet, ein Lichtbogenofen mit 2,5 Millionen Tonnen jährlich. Eine grobe Halbierung der stahl Produktion. Aber besser als eine komplette Schließung des Werkes. Gefördert von der Regierung, also kann keiner sagen, die lässt man im stich, hoffentlich geht alles auf. Bis 2029 soll es vollbracht sein. Das grüne Stahlwerk. Hayange in the Sunrise, this time though with digital cameras. I hope you enjoy.
This scenary won´t be there for a long time but luckily i preserved it in this state. Those here are the last blast furnaces that lorraine had. From the most metalurgical region to just another agriculture focused area. So sad to see its downfall.

Zeche Prosper Haniel, Schacht 10. Im Sonnenuntergang, Ruhrpott Romantik pur. Seit 2021 ist hier Ruhe eingekehrt, jetzt nur noch durch seine Betonmischanlage wieder in Betrieb. Diese wird für Schacht Hünxe genutzt. Glück auf!

Irgendwo im Ruhrgebiet, wird gerade dieser kleine Metallverarbeitungsbetrieb abgerissen, inkl. kleiner Walzanlage, Beize und Haubenglüherei. Vielen Dank an @ben_b_2105 , er fädelte diese Möglichkeit für mich ein. Leider fehlten die walzen schon. Die Wanne des Bades fürs beizen, ist aber noch da. Eine Anlage, welche aufgrund von auflagen immer seltener wird. Die großen runden Gefäße, sind außerdem die Haubenöfen in denen der aufgerollte stahl erhitzt wird, um seine Eigenschaften an den Kundenwunsch anzupassen. Sie sind mit hitzefesten Steinen ausgemauert wie man im dritten Bild sieht. Wie beim Abschrecken, nach dem Schmieden, lässt sich die kristalline Eigenschaft von stahl dadurch ändern. Metall wurde hier für über 100 Jahre lang verarbeitet. Dieser Betrieb ist Geschichte, aber die Bilder leben weiter.

Eibe Ära endet, duisburg hat nur noch fünf Öfen.
Morgen wird er kalt sein. 2029 ist sein Bruder dran, beide werden durch einen E Ofen ersetzt. Dies hilft dem Klima und ist der geringen nachfrage bedingt auch wirtschaftlicher.

On the night of the 15th the last coke coal left the furnaces at the HKM coking plant. This is part of the green steel transition that will see the full closure of the blast furnace path in 2029. This is one of the first steps on that route. Another sad day for the steel industry. Its a simple bridge, but one that coal miners have used to decades, every day they walked over it on their way to work. Now its gone. A small detail. But it shows how things fade away. A Cathedral to energy on the banks of the Rhine. Also known as powerplant Voerde. It was in service since 1971. Supplying nearby areas with 640 MW and two blocks. (Smaller ones) in the 80ties two more blocks joined with 1390 MW together. 2030 MW was reached in 2005, in an upgrade which also saw the construction of new emission and air treatment facilities. Over 8000 GWH were supplied by it over the time of 46 years. Now its being demolished for a new Gas Powerplant in its spot. Which will be converted to Hydrogen after a few years. Demolition moves fast, the first block already fell recently. This Powerplant which was supplied by local coal mines and outlived them is now facing the same future as those coal mines. #powerplant #voerde #nrw #industrial #demolition by @florianmaldinger

Metzeschmelz IV Another view of this legendary steel mill. What i brought you today, are close ups of the Building with the Electric arc furnace (EAF) It was build in 1994 and in service until 2011. At which it was closed due to economic reasons. At that point, only the wire mill was left operating, but closed down shortly after too. The building was steel frame, with concrete plates as facade. This was done to absorb noise and vibrations from the furnace. The furnace was sold as well as all other equipment. The building interior is covered in rubble, which is a left over from the dismantling. Also the reason i wasn’t allowed to enter for safety reasons but i was still able to peek inside. The building itself will be demolished. To make way for a new town district, which only incorporates certain buildings from the former ARBED mill. Also another fun fact, the site of the build, is where the blast furnaces used to be, behind it you still got some remains from the ore bunker. That was it for this impression of the mighty esch Schifflange steel mill. Hopefully i was able to make you curious. Was ihr hier seht, ist mein 1993er Subaru Impreza, vor dem Hochofen 9 und 8 von ThyssenKrupp steel. Hochofen 9 ist nun stillgelegt. Aber der Kühlturm qualmt weiterhin wie aufm video. Weil Hochofen 8 immer noch läuft. Beide können jewals rund zwei Millionen Tonnen stahl produzieren. Der 9er ist von 1962 der 8er von 2008. Immer noch einer der modernsten der welt. Die zahlen markieren außerdem die position, nicht die Reihenfolge des Baus. Gezählt wird vom Stahlwerk aus. Seit 1897 stehen hier Hochöfen. Seit 1891 gibt es die Hütte. Stadtwerke Turm duisburg. The tower that looms over the city of Duisburg. Always fascinated me. They remove the pipes in the last years, and plan to make a viewing Plattform on the top of it. The coal powerplant at the bottom is already demolished for sometime now. Constructed in 1966/67. Three pipes for smoke, one for an elevator. It is a protected landmark. Since 1999 being illuminated. In service till 2012. its 200 meters tall. The big difference of this tower, is that no concrete covered the steel construction like its usual. Camera used: Mamiya RZ 67 with a 50mm sekor lens and Portra 400 film.
