Seriously and sincerely, thank you all for the kind and loving responses to my announcement yesterday, as well as all the private messages and comments. I am so very, very touched. I have read every single one of them and will be able to respond later today.

Please know that just because I am bringing the distribution of my patterns home to Canada, this does not mean my support of our community, guilds, groups, fellow designers, artisans, events, local and virtual needlework shops, distributors, wholesalers, etc, is changing, because it won’t. I believe for us to have a thriving industry, we have to lift each other up, there are many ways to do this or these things we love, there is room for all of us.

A rising tide lifts all ships.

I recently asked for some help with suggestions for what to call this sampler, as sadly the maker did not mark it with their name, a date or a place. Thank you to everyone that provided a suggestion, I am hoping they will keep and I can use them for another pattern in the future.

To name a pattern, when I finally sit down as I will today to complete the final pre-print production tasks and photography for this piece, I go looking for inspiration. It can come from what is happening in my life at the time, something historical or literary, the piece itself may be telling me in words or images… but in this case the name was suggested by @flossbosshannah As soon as I saw it, I knew that I had to use this title. I am frequently humbled by how often wisdom comes from quotes and reminds me of my love of simplicity. So, this pattern, thanks to Hannah, will be called:

To Thine Own Self Be True.

So, now it is time to get to work doing what I love. Thank you for sharing my journey! ❤️🧵🪡

I’m going to need a new conversion notebook because this one is FULL. This small but mighty top spiral notebook houses 100+ conversions dating from Oct 2022 to today.

Since I’m no longer designing (at least for the foreseeable future), I thought I’d change my username to something that better encompasses the cross stitching stuff that I do!

Doing floss conversions using @roxy.flossco floss has become a BIG part of my stitching identity and so many people already know me as the “floss boss”.

It brings me great joy to see people stitching my conversions and I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve cooked up for our most recent releases on the @evertotes website! (Check out the latest post on that page for details)

My latest start is Jólakötturinn by @modernfolkembroidery and I am obsessed.

Floss: Roxy Floss Co “Holiday Punch”and “Third Place” (and probably more colours to come when these remnants run out)

I’m stitching this 1 over 1 and loving it!!! Y’all it’s amazing to find exactly how you like to stitch when you’re a relative newbie. My stitching is far from perfect but it brings me so much joy.

And of course, a massive shoutout to my amazing Hearthside Craftworks lap stand from @evertotes - a total game changer for my stitching.

It might take me until next Christmas to finish it and that’s okay. Just going to enjoy the process.
