🌜🌞

After a long hiatus and a new starter (Joni), I'm back to baking!
If felt so good to get my hands back in some dough and try out a new design. I'm still a bit rusty (gotta work on those score depths and final shaping) but bring on the bread!

Back with a classic, and check out that ear!

Giving your loaves a long deep score to open can allow you to play with more detailed intricate patterns.

Got distracted and overbaked one of my loaves. No sweat, time for croutons! Instructions below:

Preheat the oven to 375.
Cut the bread into cubes.

Place in a bowl and coat liberally with olive oil, stir it up to get everything coated well, you may need a second round of oiling.

Season with any spices you like, I usually use Italian Seasoning, Garlic Power & Salt. Make sure all bread cubes are evenly coated.
Place the croutons on a baking sheet making sure there is space between each. Bake for 8 minutes, flip and mix up the croutons, spreading them out evenly again and bake for another 8 minutes.

You want to keep an eye on them the last five minutes or so, they will turn a nice golden brown.

Transfer to a storage container and enjoy with your next salad or soup or just to eat as a snack.

Recipe credit goes to my dad! ♡
