This impactful event was created to provide young adults with actionable strategies to increase their financial knowledge and build confidence. Our mission is to help our community with the tools they need to navigate their financial journeys with success and minimal risks.

Over the weekend we celebrated International Youth Day with our annual Backpack drive initiative. Over 200 bags were distributed to students!

Week 2 of I Make Money Moves is in the books.

This session was all about Saving & Investing, because learning how to earn money is only half the story… learning how to grow it is where real power begins.

“If your goal isn’t specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound… it’s just a wish.”

We were grateful to be joined by our delivery partner and financial literacy educator @kabithebroker Yannick (@flow.mgmt), who broke down the difference between saving and investing, and introduced our youth to the power of compound interest: how money can grow simply by giving it time and the right place to sit.

These are the tools that shift mindsets from surviving to building.

The Black Student Success Centre (BSSC) is back this term with our Financial Literacy Series!

In partnership with @flow.mgmt, we are hosting practical workshops designed to help you manage your finances effectively and build financial confidence. Come and engage in conversations around budgeting, savings, and financial stability, all in a safe and supportive space.

These sessions are open to all Black McMaster University students across all programs. You will learn practical tips, and real-life strategies that help you address your financial concerns.
