Wedding guest favors? In this case - there WAS NO QUESTION. When I met Brenda & Louis she told me that she is a ceramacist and that she would be HAND MAKING all of the bud vases and vessels for the wedding reception tables. I loved the idea from the outset, but was completely blown away when I started opening up the boxes that I picked up from her a few days before the wedding. There are 99 of these GORGEOUS vases - the colors, textures, and shapes were just so perfect! And what a truly incredible gift for their friends and loved ones to have as a reminder of the most perfect celebration of unity in the lives of two people who are so special to them.

The locally handmade vessels coupled with almost all the flowers (everything except for a few sprigs of wax flower we had kicking around that I liked for texture) sourced from regional, small farms makes this the MOST SUSTAINABLE wedding florals design that we have executed. Adding in the Botanical Garden location? Well, I couldn't be happier to have gone to Staten Island! Simply a perfect wedding set up!

Congratulations and all gratitude once again to Brenda & Louis!! 😍

When your Clown Suit perfectly matches the ceremony arrangements! (Joy!)

Hubba Hubba BRIGHT Blooms for this one were all local courtesy of @floweraggregate !!! (Except for that one little Nerine tucked in there - although, as temperate as we are here now, I bet they can be considered "tender perennials" and I think I'm gonna give them a whirl in my planter boxes. They are so fun! Let's make them local!)

Custom order work from a few weeks ago. The client sent inspiration images (scroll through) along with some pretty specific design requests. The plinth for the arrangement was 11"×11" and the arrangement height could only go to 14" tall - BUT in a footed vessel, so about 12" floral height only. The inspiration arrangements were heavy on line flowers as focals and both have some height to achieve the negative space effect. Felt like a good opportunity for a fun exercise in the studio. @frenchscal and I each made one the day before delivery (his is slide two, my first is slide three), and then I remade mine into what was actually given to the client in the first image.

I think they are all GORGEOUS. The first of the local amaranthus for the year was such a nice addition, and the Bells of Ireland from PA were soooo stunning!! Thanks @floweraggregate for most of these goodies! @bloomcourtfarm provided the yummy yarrow and some of the funky allium. @vanvliet filled in with the rest of the allium, the campanula, and also the pretty echinacea heads. Baptisia foliage from my yard.

There was so much eye candy on our demo table last night for the open house and showcase at @hamilton.loft

Went with a Summer Pollinators theme and am simply in love with how this came out!!

I've been waiting to use these gorgeous candles from Little Bee of Connecticut - and BOY did they perform! Burned so clean, and for so long. (Scroll through to see how much was left on the 8" taper after 3.5 hours!! So worth a little extra investment!)

As for the stems - all from regional and local farms and all jaw-droppingly beautiful! I couldn't even think about mixing them up, so we let each shine in single varietal vases. Really like this look!

Oh my! The pictures don't lie - these two were simply radiant and positively vibrating with joy!! Tropicals don't usually find their way into our designs - but so happy to have had this opportunity to play with some stunning, locally grown orchids. I was even happier that they worked so well with my "usual suspect" garden favorites! With Nina's very simple dress, the maximalism slayed - and proved to me that it's nice to step outside the wheelhouse from time to time! Wishing Alex & Nina nothing but love and magic forever!

Special shout out to all my "girls" who are choosing color for that aisle walk! We have a several of you this year, and I am obsessed!!

Those strawberries on a stem everybody adores were grown by the fabulous folks at @_hog_farm. We are flush with pride to host their summer CSA on Tuesdays starting next week at the warehouse (and you can join anytime and get pro-rated rates!)
