I had to add these beautiful blooms from @heb to the grid because can you even 😍 I got these on a curbside order the day we had the celebration for my daughter 👩🏻‍🎓 and they get prettier everyday 🌹

Tips for a beautiful arrangement below 👇🏽

💐 use a clear vase to make the entire bouquet
part of the living art display

💐 remove any greenery that is below the water
to not create a bacterial environment

💐 spread your flowers out evenly making sure
to not overcrowd your vase and allow
room for blooming. The one I used above is
actually a thrifted wine decanter 🍷

💐 pay attention to the height of each flower and
make sure to not have bigger blooms
covering the smaller ones

💐 the most important tip is to CREATE WHAT
MAKES YOU HAPPY! If you like the way your
display looks then who cares what anyone
thinks 😝

Thank you so much to my bold and beautiful friend @artnerdforever for not only your illustrated contributions to this and other educational books for our native people, but for all you do and keeping folks educated on the REAL facts of Native American history, not the whitewashed version that is unfortunately taught and circulated through out this nation. We love and thank you 🙏💐🌙

Representation is so important and @carolelindstrom, a New York Times bestselling author, has so beautifully written this book about the power our native hair holds& how we carry our memories and the strength of the women that walked before us within each strand. Thank you so much for the knowledge you have shared with us all. My daughter will grow up with strong and beautiful native women as yourself to lookup to as she becomes her own woman, we love and appreciate you 💐🌙

Just a little baby opossum joy to brighten your Sunday 🩶🤍🖤

These are some throwbacks of Veetis siblings Eden and Jasper and I know many of you remember when they made their appearance here in the opossum catching hat 😂 I think there is a reel about them a good ways back in my feed 🎥

And Veetis intro reel, who is our runt with respiratory issues who was unable to be released back into the wild but is safe, healthy and very spoiled and loved in his sanctuary, is at almost half a million views 😄

Eden and Jasper were rehabbed indoors for two weeks and successfully released back into our certified wildlife habitat and this was over a year ago now, and they are still with us today 🥰

They are asleep during the day in their shelters and we see them nightly on the cameras, along with the raccoons, out and about eating and gathering for nesting and food storage

Opossums are one of the few exceptions with wildlife that cannot survive on their own as an orphaned joey and need care from a certified caregiver as myself. If you ever come across an orphaned opossum baby, please just put it in a safe open box or storage container and contact your local wildlife rehabber and they well assist you in getting the baby to them. In the last slide there are 3 babies, the last one was named Pinky and was k*lled by a hawk about a week after release, and that’s how it unfortunately goes in nature sometimes ☹️

But humans should know better than to cause any harm. They are very nervous and shy little sweethearts who just a need a little extra protecting until they can manage on their own so please don’t cause them harm, or to any wildlife or animal for that matter 🦝🐇🦨🐁🦔🦤🕊️

Native Milkweed for our Monarchs 🦋

I’ve successfully raised and released hundreds of monarchs and it’s one of my life’s missions to help keep them from going extinct. What may seem like a small act on your part can lead to major positive impacts for our wildlife and environment, so don’t let anyone ever tell you that you don’t make a difference 🦋

But just like positive impacts can be made, if you don’t educate yourself properly before assisting monarchs in their journey, you could also cause detrimental outcomes for their population so you really must take the time to learn their life cycle and know how to look for all the signs of an unhealthy larvae and what’s causing any sickness, such as parasites for one example 🪰

Check out www.livemonarch.com for more information on how to properly help monarchs in your region, and they will even send you some free native milkweed seeds to help get you started 💐🌙

I’m in my snail girl era 🐌

💐 I’m taking it slow

💐 Spending time in the garden

💐 Creating art and jewelry

💐 Working on my goals as I have the energy

💐 Setting boundaries

💐 Staying hydrated

💐 Resting when my body tells me to

You can catch me in the garden, flower studio, or napping 👩🏻‍🌾💐🌙

Also, please be kind to snails 🐌 they are innocent and curious little creatures that play a role in nature and our environment like all living things do. Our gardens are in their homes and they deserve to live their slow paced little life 🖤

Zinnias are the very first flower I grew from seed in my first adult garden when I was 18 from my apartment balcony 💐 and all these years later they are such a classic favorite and I always have them growing in the garden. Well normally at least, but you know climate change has been doing the most 😮‍💨 and the freak blizzard we had recently, followed by an Arctic blast took out all the zinnias a couple months ago ❄️ so while new seeds are actively direct sowing, let’s look at some pics from the last batch at the back of the garden in one of the pollinator patches and do some color symbolism in nature with my favorite flower 🌈

❤️ Romance•Passion•Love

💜 Royalty•Luxury•Refined Beauty

💛 Optimism•Joy•Positivity

🩷 Poetic Expression•Sophistication

🧡 Excitement•Adventure•Enthusiasm

Zinnias will always be my recommendation flower for first time gardeners because they grow in abundance and have so many different colors and patterns, they grow fast, provide for our pollinators, and are super easy to harvest seeds from once the heads dry up so you have never ending supply 💐🌙
