Every love story is different… so why should wedding flowers follow the rules? 🤍

Putting my face on here again because although I’m not overly comfortable with it, being a small business owner isn’t just about the flower creativity. It also means being a content creator, photographer, marketing manager and part-time algorithm whisperer… so I thought I’d share a few photos and things that you possibly won’t know about me.

I’m mum to two grown-up kids, Callum and Ebony and wife to Chris, my biggest cheerleader, who often happens to be my unpaid van loader, driver, installations engineer, and set up assistant - he definitely didn’t sign up for that ….. all perks of being married to me!

I’m dog mum to Bleu, our blue roan cocker spaniel, who keeps me company and probably knows he’s the real boss.

Before life became flowers, I was a ‘bit of a runner’. I’ve pounded the streets and hills around East Lancashire quite a lot over the years and I’ve completed the Great North Run and both the Manchester and London Marathons.

These days, you’ll usually find me in my flower studio…

Creating for weddings, funerals, special occasions and coming up with new ideas or planning my next workshop.

So just a little bit about me .. I could go on about a love of Prosecco and gin.. but I’ll save that for another day. Thank you if you’ve made it this far, 😅… the next post will definitely be about flowers. Marie x by @flowersbymarie_

October edition 🍂

The weddings are starting to ease off… although they’re not quite done until December!

So this month I’m turning my attention to cosy season — think rich berry tones, autumnal florals; pumpkins and, of course, plenty of wreaths. 🍁

I’m also busy planning my 🌲wreath workshops, ( notice I haven’t said the word 🤭) so if you fancy getting creative, watch this space… x by @flowersbymarie_

The ‘ber’ months might be here and I do love Autumn and all its colours. It’s such a welcome to see Autumn flowers making an appearance, with candlelight and warm jumpers (not the 🕷️ though) … but honestly there’s always a square on my grid for a white and green bouquet. I never get bored of them. 🤍 by @flowersbymarie_

Honestly the best feeling and still how most of my couples find me.

Are you getting married and still on the hunt for a florist?

Tudor walls. Historic halls. Black and white. Plus a whole lot of colour.

I absolutely loved bringing bright, colourful wedding flowers into a venue steeped in history this weekend.

This bridal bouquet was for Macy for her wedding at Samlesbury Hall - a beautiful Tudor venue in Lancashire — and the contrast between the dramatic old-world setting and vibrant blooms was perfect. And honestly your wedding flowers don’t have to match the venue; they’re there to accentuate it. When your venue is dramatic, historic and seriously beautiful, the flowers you don’t expect may just complement the most.

Shannon & Dan 🤍

I don’t think we could have asked for a more perfect day.

Sunshine from start to finish, the most beautiful outdoor ceremony at Eaves Hall, and two people who were smiling from the moment the day began.

Shannon looked absolutely incredible in her gown from @bridal_lounge_clitheroe Elegant, timeless and completely effortless.

Her soft, romantic hairstyle by @bridal_hair_by_charliex and flawless makeup by @shanastleymakeup finished the look perfectly, while the beautiful white bouquet and delicate blue and white florals throughout the day by @flowersbymarie_ tied everything together so beautifully.

There were so many moments throughout the day that I’ll remember. Shannon walking through the gardens with her dad before the ceremony, Dan’s face as he watched her walk down the aisle, confetti filling the air, champagne flowing on the terrace and stealing a little time away together for portraits around the grounds while everyone enjoyed the sunshine.

Inside, the reception looked just as beautiful. Elegant tables, candlelight, stunning florals and the loveliest hand-drawn illustrations by @newcardsontheblock_, which made such a special keepsake for their guests.

As the evening rolled around, @danandmaccamusic kept the atmosphere going perfectly, and it wasn’t long before everyone was on the dance floor making the most of the celebrations.

It was one of those weddings that just flowed. Relaxed, full of laughter, full of love and such a joy to photograph from beginning to end.

Shannon & Dan, thank you so much for having me there. It really was the most gorgeous day, and I feel so lucky to have been the one to capture it all. 🤍
