✨ Meet the artist behind Compass to Canvas!

We’re excited to welcome Fatima of @flowingscript as the facilitator for our upcoming geometric art workshop.

For the past 10 years, Fatima has explored calligraphy, geometric art, and a variety of creative techniques.

She founded Flowing Script in part to challenge disability stigma while creating space to share her passion for art. She's also the founder of the original Michigan Ramadan Market, launched in 2022.

🎨 At Compass to Canvas, Fatima will guide participants through the process of creating their own geometric artwork using a compass, ruler, and canvas.

📅 Saturday, October 17

This fall, I’m launching Gather & Grow Experiences — thoughtfully designed opportunities for women to get together, learn something new, create, connect, and simply enjoy the experience. 🤍

I’ve been connecting with some wonderful women in our community to put together everything from creative workshops and gardening to wellness, self-publishing, and seasonal outings.

K E Y C H A I N S | acrylic

An order of 12 acrylic keychains of almost 3", featuring four Arabic/Islamic words - rahmah, sabr, tawakkul, & shukr. Each has been manually engraved, filled with gold, covered in white, and finished off with a circular holder thing.

Tis fun. Tis also pretty time-consuming especially with filling in the engraved parts. I'm pretty sure if I had a laser machine, it would've been a much faster process. Khair, my hands be cool, Alhamdulillah.

DM if you'd like yours of your name! Limit only up to 10 keychains due to the nature of process.

C H A P T E R | moving on

Tis but time to close this chapter. And not just a chapter, but one of all the times I withdrew from the world and simply created. Having a private studio allowed me to research on different techniques, find out what I'm good at and not so good at, build up my patience and gratefulness, take out my sad into creating, connect with talented artists and small business owners, and oh so much more. But the reality of being a small business owner has brought me to this decision of leaving this happy place and closing the business side of my talent.

So. I will have the studio open from the 14th (Sun) to 20th (Sat) from 11 am to 5 pm (except Friday). I will have all the products here for sale, so they do have to go to new homes! After that, I'm out and done.

You're so welcome to just drop in just to say hi ☺️ I am ever thankful to each and every one of you for being with me on my Islamic Art journey!

E V E N T | MRM 2026

I am back to bringing Michigan Ramadan Market back to life for another year.

Let me take a moment to express my shock at the fact that this is going to be the 5th year! How time flies! It is truly mind-blowing to me that someone like me would step forth and bring the very first of its kind - Michigan Ramadan Market - to life, which would later cause a wave of Ramadan Markets in different cities since then.

When I said someone like me, I really mean it. Those who've known me for years, from school years, would agree. I was never a people-person nor an extrovert due to my hearing & speech impairments, so excuse me that I'm surprised I keep coming back to it, lol.

Anywhoooo, I kid you not, Saint John's Resort is a beautiful professional venue to host the 5th year of Michigan Ramadan Market. And it would delight me to see it become a bigger success than the last, in sha Allah.

So come, and join in the day of family-friendly time of workshops, raffles, & shopping in the spirit of Ramadan!

Hit up the link for the head count :)

F A V O R S | wood sign

This is approximately 17" x 26.5" wood sign of black frame and white background. The Quranic verse, 'then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny', is calligraphied by me and laser cut by @rm_arabic_calligraphy . Painted in black to go with the overall look. It comes with two sawtooths on the back for easy hanging.

This verse is such an important reminder for us to be grateful for what we have, and to not take things for granted. A beautiful reminder to be added to your wall.

P E A C E | farmhouse sign

This is a 14" round farmhouse sign of gray frame and white background. Both Arabic (gold salaam) and English (gray peace) are woven into each other, emphasizing that a meaning is universal across languages. This sign is hangable with a maroonish brown leather strap, and makes a nice addition to your front door or your foyer hall.

For sale :)
