POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi everyone, I’m Flora 🤍

I’m officially a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and currently accepting new virtual clients across Ontario with low cost therapy.

I created this space to share reflections on healing, emotions, relationships, self-compassion, and growth — both inside and outside the therapy room.

My work is grounded in warmth, authenticity, curiosity, and genuine human connection. I approach therapy through a person-centred, emotion-focused, trauma-informed, and attachment-informed lens.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, emotionally stuck, or simply tired of carrying everything alone, you don’t have to navigate it all by yourself. 🌿

Thank you for being here. I’m excited to grow this space together.

A little gardening thought that felt a lot like healing 🌱

I started gardening recently, and somewhere between the hard soil, the weed roots, and my first rose, I started thinking about healing.

My garden had builder dirt.

Hard soil.
Rocks.
Weed roots everywhere.

I tried to clear all the weed roots out, but the roots had spread all over the ground. Deep down, tangled together, it felt like it would take forever to clear every single one.

Naturally, I felt frustrated.

Trauma and past experiences can feel like weed roots.

Deeply grounded.
Intertwined.
Not easy to fully remove.

When all there is in your garden is weed, and all you can see is more weed growing, it makes sense to feel helpless.

It makes sense to think:

“What’s the point?”

But we don’t have to clear the whole garden before we begin.

We can go one rose branch at a time.

Over time, the rose roots may take over some of the weeds.

Or they may simply learn to share space on the same ground.

And slowly, as you plant more—

hydrangea,
Japanese maple,
lavender,
catmint,
or whatever you decide to grow—

the garden starts to change.

The hard work is still hard.

You still have to dig.
You get frustrated.
The sun burns your back.
You sweat.
You get muddy.

And yes, the weeds may grow back.

But now your garden isn’t just weeds anymore.

Your flowers live with the weeds that occasionally show up.

And slowly, your care turns from only digging out weeds
to watering and caring for what you planted.

The weed roots might still be there.

But your garden is so much more colorful now.

There’s a specific kind of grief that comes from realizing you may never receive the version of love you spent years hoping for.

Not because you didn’t try hard enough.
Not because you didn’t communicate enough.
But because healing cannot happen through one person carrying the entire relationship alone.

I think part of growing up, especially within immigrant and collectivistic family systems, is learning that love and disappointment can exist together. Grief and relief can exist together too.

This post isn’t about blame or cutting people off. It’s about the quiet decision to stop abandoning yourself in order to maintain closeness.

And maybe that’s where healing begins. Not in changing the past, but in changing what we continue carrying forward.
