What a trip we had to AO2 in Fort Worth. It was our first time at this venue and it did not disappoint. I took 3 gentlemen that have been with me for a long time. Some had good lifts and some had some misses. All of them earned their lifts though and upped their skill points.

First up we had @benjaminengelbracht He went 4:6 with a 108 and 124. Ben has a lot more in the tank and he will show that off at the Arnold next year for sure. That was a great snatch for him though 👍

Next we had @mikey_olyjourney This was Mike's first National level meet and it didn't phase him. Mike went 4:6 with a 91 and 112. Fantastic numbers that were just shy of PRs. Terrific for his first big meet.

Finally we had @gregorysweat Greg has been with me since the beginning and has overcome a lot of hurdles. He has never been deterred and has always seen hurdles as a motivator. Greg went 3:3 with a 106 and 130. That CJ was awesome!

Till next time when we see everyone at Finals in Dec.👋🤙🤘 taken in Fort Worth Convention Center by @floydfarmsweightlifting

What a day. Another great meet for my men at Allsouth Summer Slam yesterday.

@mikey_olyjourney re-qualified for AO2 as an 85 Sr. He came through with exactly what he needed, 90k snatch and a 112k C&J for a 202 total. Congratulations on making it to your first national level meet! On to Texas!

@rb_oly_ allllllmost went 6 for 6 with a 93k snatch and a 125k C&J for a 218 total. This might be the last meet for a bit as he is moving to South Carolina. He's still going to be lifting for me though so he is not going away anytime soon.

Congrats on the lifts gentlemen. 🤘🤘 by @floydfarmsweightlifting

Great day yesterday for moving some weight at The Barbell Mania at @peakstrengthandfitness Always a solid crew that runs their meets. Thanks for having us.

@mikey_olyjourney (88k) went 5 for 6 with a 89k snatch and a 115k c&j giving him a 204 total. All 3 were PRs. Even won a gold medal too. Just a little brag on Mike...He has lifted in 10 meets over the last 4 years and still has a 86.11% make percentage. Keep up the hard work Mikey.

@therealtripfloyd went 4 for 6 with a 90k snatch and a 115k c&j giving him a 205 total. The snatch and total were both PRs.

Very proud of both of these gentlemen. They have been working for a while and as life does, they have had a few curve balls with work and just life. It says a lot when you have external stressors and are still able to pull off a few PRs at a meet.

PRs reset after a hip replacement right?
Asking for a friend.

I had my left side done about 15 years ago and today's procedure was a piece of cake compared to the first time. Hip replacement out patient. Insane.

Time to rebuild the correct way. I'll be moving weight before you know it. Might even see me on a platform before the end of the year.💪🤘

Thanks for everything @moore_aleigh8 @paragonsportsmed

Well, it was another great, successful, American Open. It was great getting to see old friends and make new ones.

First up we had @benjaminengelbracht (71k Sr). Having a few National meets under his belt already, this was his first Arnold. Ben went 5/6 with a 101k snatch and a 123k clean and jerk. Pretty dang good considering since Oct he has been on the mend from a strained groin and a pulled calf. Well done sir.

Next we had @gregorysweat (88k Sr). This was Greg's first national level meet and he handled the stress and pressure perfectly. Greg went 4/6 with a 94k snatch and a 120k clean and jerk. Great job sir. You earned every bite of that steak.

As we head home tomorrow, all of my lifters will be taking a recovery week and then they will be doing a speed and technique block for 6 weeks, followed by a 12 week prep for those going to Nationals this summer. If you are interested in joining the crew for either of these blocks shoot me a msg on here and I can get you set up and ready to work.

Another great meet at @allsouthbarbell this weekend. If you are looking for a good meet for all levels of lifters AND coaches, the Ironborn and the Open later in the year are it.
First up we had @l.i.l.i.a.d 48k JR...she went 5/6 with a 48k and 58k. This qualified her for Nationals, and AO2 and AO Finals in the new weight classes. Next stop, Colorado this summer.
Next we had @therealtripfloyd He went 3/6 after a rough lead up to the meet. Sometimes life throws curve balls and he handled it well. Trip made 85k and 115k.
Finally we had @gregorysweat Greg went 4/6 with a 100k and 120k. This qualified him for U25 88k for Nationals. Next up for Greg is the Arnold where he wants to also qualify for Nationals as a 94k U25. His last miss today would have taken care of that for him, so it's there, he just needs 2 whites.

Super proud of all my lifters. For now...back to the grind. by @floydfarmsweightlifting

Last max out day of the year for my crew. Had a few great PRs, a come back lift after 2 injuries, and some lifts from those that have taken a break from lifting for a little bit. Really looking forward to the coming year. Next week will be a recovery week and then back to work to get ready for the Ironborn in Feb and AO1 in March. taken in Floyd Farms Weightlifting by @floydfarmsweightlifting

What a day. It was every emotion of weightlifting that you can have in one day.
On Saturday a couple of my guys went up to Buford, Ga to @peakstrengthandfitness for the Kilo Classic. It definitely is one I will remember.
First up we had @mikey_olyjourney (88k Sr) He went 5:6 for a 198k total in his first meet back after being away for the summer. For snatch he made 79k, 82k, 86k for a new PR. For clean & jerk he made 105k, 112k, missed 119k. His best ever was 114 back in Feb of this year. If he'd made the 119 he would have qualified for his first national meet, AO1. He still has plenty of time to handle that though. So we called for that because it's definitely in reach and figured maybe it was there. He had been looking good leading up to this meet. He makes the clean fairly easy, then barely missed the jerk. It's definitely there so we should be seeing 120 go down by Christmas. Great job Michael. 👍

Next was @benjaminengelbracht (71k Sr)
I was really excited to see what Ben was going to do at this meet because he has been killing it the last 9 weeks. Ben went 3:6 with a 205k total. The first snatch 98k went well, as it's a typical number for him to make. The second was just shy of his best at 102k. He missed behind and came straight to me saying something popped in his hip. I went ahead and bumped him to his 3rd number of 105k to buy him some time. After doing some moving around in the back he said he could do 105. So out he went and nailed it, a new snatch PR.
Now the question was should he clean & jerk. We decided to be safe and just lower our opener and call it a day. I put him in for an easy 100k and he muscles it. Living to fight the gods of gravity another day.
Great job Ginger Beef

Thanks again to the Williams and Peak Strength for hosting a great meet. It's always a good time at this meet and is great for beginners all the way up to Olympians. taken in Peak Strength and Fitness by @floydfarmsweightlifting

Next we had @danielhamill99 Daniel showed off some great technical work along with his strength. He went 5:6 with a 84k/118k/202k total

Finally we had @thereealtripfloyd Trip has really been putting in the work to up his numbers and it showed . He went 4:6 with a 84k/118k/202k total

In the final session we had @rb_oly_ making his return to the platform after taking some time off. He did great and went 5:6 and got a 91k/125k/216k total

Lastly we had @gregorysweat who has really improved after having a few injuries this last year. Greg went 5:6 with a 103k/121k/224k total

2025 US Nationals wrapup...

It was a great 2 days in Colorado for my lifters that joined me here at Nationals.

First up we had @l.i.l.i.a.d (48k F Jr). It was her first National meet and she did fantastic. She went 4/6 with a 48k PR snatch, 54k c&j for a 102k total PR. The really great part of her story this week is that it's her first National meet and she got 5th in snatch, 7th in c&j, and 6th overall. Not too shabby for not even lifting for 2 years yet.

Next up we had @benjaminengelbracht (71 M U23) Ginger Beef went 4/6 with a 99k snatch, 117k c&j for a 216k total. His snatch was good enough for his first National medal which was bronze...all on his birthday.

Finally we had @the.mighty.a (71 M Jr) He finally decided to jump back into lifting after being away for 2 years and did not disappoint. It didn't go exactly how he wanted but he did a great job and I'm super proud of him. Ash went 4/6 with a 128k snatch, 140k c&j for a 258k total giving him 5th overall.

I'm super proud of all my kids. All I ever ask is that they give me their best, and they have never disappointed me. Ever.

Till next year here in the Springs...
