POSTS STORIES REELS

We’re Fluffy Farms, a small regenerative farm, owned and run by wife-and-husband team Melanie and Stan.

All of our sourdough baked goods are made with freshly stone-milled flour from grain grown by New Jersey farmers. We grow seasonal vegetables without sprays, and our ceramics are crafted by hand in a small studio.

We grow food, love goats, and occasionally spark spirited conversations about grain.

I’m Melanie, baker and co-owner of Fluffy Farms. I mill my own flour and train under renowned sourdough educator @wayne_caddy. Both Wayne and @redsbreads_cali (Marc) have been important baking mentors to me. Meeting Marc completely altered the way I think about grain, and I’m forever grateful he never sleeps.

I volunteer as President of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey, @nofanj, an organization dedicated to supporting agriculture through education, advocacy, and technical assistance since 1985. I also serve on the advisory board of @fooddemocracycollaborative_nj, helping to strengthen local food systems. You can find me at the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture meetings as well.

Stan has never met a goat he didn’t like. 🐐

This past season, we’ve been transforming the farm into the space we’ve always dreamed it could be. We’re so grateful to the extraordinary talent of @littlexlittlefarm for helping us bring that dream to life.

It looks beautiful, but farming & baking are grueling. There are endless bug bites, severe burns, flour, long meetings, and questionable amounts of sleep, but somehow, it’s all worth it. Because good things don’t grow in a vacuum, or on our soil alone.

See you out there for fall market season!

Peak season, fields full—still, I left.
Because some teachers are worth crossing oceans for. Twice now, I’ve flown to learn from Wayne & Helen Caddy, the real deal.

Wayne gave us his whole soul teaching his 100% Sourdough course while Helen cared for us like family. In that room were bakers from every generation and every skill level, from all over the world & every single one of us left with our minds reeling, our hearts full, and friends for life. I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am.

Swipe through to see the magic!

when you find the ones who truly master their craft, you drop everything to be there. by @fluffy.farms

This is my favorite time of the season, when we get to see how much of our family’s meal we can create straight from the farm. As first-generation farmers, it’s taken years of trial and error to get here, but each season brings new skills and knowledge. Today, we’re making a farm-fresh pizza, using ingredients we’ve grown ourselves (Minus the wheat - which is NJ grown!). Who knows what next year will bring, but we can’t wait to find out.

Farm life 💖 by @fluffy.farms

It is late August & you somehow find yourself on the beautiful @walkingbirdfarm wandering the fields, tasting an absolutely irresponsible number of tomatoes thanks to the incredible @nofanj team (sourcing tomatoes from many local farmers), grabbing food from @hammerbacherkitchen, gleaning rows of tomatoes with @njfarmersagainsthunger, watching @tonifarmersgarden turn tomatoes into magic with a @nescoappliances dehydrator & @ptbooster , making a cool stamp art post card with @fooddemocracycollaborative_nj and getting a tomato patch sewn on everything from a t-shirt to a coach bag by @knockoutbykris . 🍅

You consult @nofanj’s organic doctor about how to keep your garden tomatoes from splitting, say hello to members of the state assembly (@aswandreakatz @assemblymanalex), grab a lemonade, and get a selfie lesson from @seatoxlemonade. Then pick up some locally grazed steaks from @surfandturffarmsnj to grill up with your tomatoes.

There are incredible local farmers and vendors, beautiful neighbors, colleagues, farmers and families who traveled from near and far just to be here.

And somewhere in the middle of all that tomato-fueled chaos, you think: oh. This is the good stuff.

My favorite event of the summer because nothing beats the vibes.

FesTomato is the farming equivalent in the summer of someone handing you a cold drink from @theseedbeer and saying, “You made it this far in the season.” 😂🍅

See you in tomato heaven. ❤️

So many incredible farms, vendors, makers, neighbors, and friends made the day what it was. Tag your favorite tomato memory below

I feel so lucky to help give your old clothes a second chance with these locally sewn tomato patches! 🍅

It’s a dream come true to partner with @fluffy.farms to host the Tomato Patch Booth at Festomato on Saturday, August 22 at @walkingbirdfarm 🪡 I’ll be there from noon-5pm offering these patches to anyone who wants to cover up old holes, stains, tears, or to just add some flare to their wardrobe! It will be just $5 for a small patch and $10 for a large patch and the event itself is free to attend!

Please be sure to come by the handmade tomato patch and explore this amazing event with so many other immersive activities and local vendors ❤️ by @fluffy.farms

Never watched a soccer game before, but seeing Spain win the World Cup while in Spain was absolutely unreal. ¡Viva España! 🇪🇸⚽ Even in the small sleepy towns, magic was everywhere. by @fluffy.farms
