Each painting is its own planetary system.

I cook up the primal storm of its becoming, then send a dispatch from somewhere inside it.

Every work contains a points of resistance, a color, a signal, a fragment that refuses to settle. Something that interrupts the pattern and asks the eye to return.

Painting feels like falling through layers of a dream, until you discover you have the crystal that lets you float around your neck.

P I N K I N I N D I G O

I’ve always loved Miles Davis titles like Blue in Green.

This painting arrived as Pink in Indigo.

A wave pattern moves across the surface, neuronal, organic, almost tidal. A current of indigo interrupted by pink. A signal entering the flow. A disturbance that reorganizes the field around it.

Lately I’ve been dreaming of standing on a lifting platform, painting at a scale large enough to walk through. Yet this small work carries its own intensity.

It feels like overhearing a deep conversation through an open window on a summer evening in Berlin.
