I’m not one for a sob story, but I just feel like updating and sharing my experience.

So after the worst 2 weeks of my life, 2 days ago I finally got discharged from Surigao Medical Hospital.

Me and my girlfriend were hit off our bike, and had a head on collision with another bike across the road. The first bike fled away, leaving the rest of us on the floor.

The medical situation in Siargao is very limited, and after being told my leg might have to be amputated, I chose to take myself on a boat to a hospital that had better facilities (still no MRI, only CT or Duplex scans).

After so much hassle, I was sent for a duplex scan. I was given the all clear for DVT, but then found out that I had been diagnosed with Lower Extremity Arterial Disease (LEAD) and Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). This is something old people get. I am really upset, and I’m going to look further into this in the UK, but it’s only going to make me stronger.

After all of this, I was given some fish and stupidly swallowed a bone. Within 20 minutes, I had cut my throat and infected it, leaving an abcess right on my vocal cord, extending my stay at the hospital.

For those that suffer from panic attacks, they really are no joke. I had my first one, lasting 3 hours whilst I was inside the hospital. I actually accepted that I was going to die and said my goodbyes to all of my family. This was horrible and it makes me tear up even thinking about it. It was actually the worst night of my life. I’ve never been anxious or unable to control my emotions, but wow, I really did believe it. Panic attacks share a lot of similarities with the symptoms of a blood clot travelling to your lungs. Even the nurses were panicking. TY S.P Hospital ❤️

Before all of this, I was also bit by about a million mosquitoes - one of course carrying dengue fever. That’s the worst I’ve actually felt from any “Flu” ever.

I am now stuck in Surigao, inside the eye of BASYANG, a Typhoon.

I’ve cancelled my travels, and I’m heading back to London. I am so happy I am alive. Who knew all of this could happen just from someone trying to overtake me at 20mph. I wonder what would of happened if it was any faster… 🦟🏍️🦴🌪️ taken in St. Paul Hospital Surigao by @flx__music
