Crazy, what can actually accomplish in 3 months when you set a goal and commit to it no matter how challenging it is. .For years, I’ve been building / flying Quadcopters and I decided to take on the challenge of designing and building a cinewhoop from the ground up. From pen & paper to flying in the air. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m truly happy with the way this bad boy has turned out. 🛸.Took on the challenge of learning an AutoCad system like fusion as well as how to use 3D printer, having zero experience with both. 📐.With this Cinewhoop, I wanted to design one where it’s easy to build, versatile with flying indoors / outdoors, powerful enough to carry full-size action cameras and can also be customizable to look fly AF!. 👾.With manufacturing this Cinewhoop, We went all the way out and had the prop guards in Anodized Aluminum! Although it makes the drone look and feel extremely sleek & durable, it’s just not practical with how heavy it is (80 Grams!!!) decided to go with a lighter material like PLA Tough. Took the Whoopski V.1 out for an official photoshoot in the snow. It’s been 5 years since the last time we’ve have seen snow in Atlanta, so had to make the best of it 🥶!.The goal for Fly.Whoops is to help drone pilots build their own personalized drone, specifically the “Cinewhoop.” We have been in the industry the last 5 years flying cinewhoops professionally and for fun and the best ones are the ones you put together yourself.🛠️.Building a drone does sound intimidating at first, but it is not as difficult as it seems and once you build your first drone, that acquired skill cannot be broken in a single crash 🤓. My buddy @jd.fpv started his FPV journey with a simulator and this Acrobee75 from @newbeedrone. A few year back.He was looking for a cinewhoop that he can use for gigs and this little guy was just sitting around collecting dust so we’re repurposing it, especially since DJI FPV systems are hard to come buy these days 🙄.We gave this system a new life and now he has a drone that can carry action cameras like GoPros, Nanos, etc. 🛸I was able to salvage some parts I had laying around from a different build which made putting this together super easy 🤓What do you guys think!?..#cinewhoop #fpv #tinywhoop #drone #dronebuild by @fly.whoops

Hello Analog! We meet again 🤓Excited to get back into TinyWhoops.I’ve had the @newbeedrone Acrobee 65 for the last 5 years collecting dust and im glad to add the @betafpv Air 75 to the fleet. 🚁In my opinion Timywhoops are the best way to get real world experience flying FPV! They’re durable, affordable and you can fly them anywhere indoor and out. Looking forward to building & flying these sweet little rigs. WHOOPSKI UPGRADES!! 🤓🚀Checking in! The page is not dead like someone asked. I’ve just been focusing on all my crafts 🤣1. CNC Aluminum Lipo Brackets: Now the Lipo Battery feels super secured 🔒One of the biggest issues before was the 3D printed Lipo Strap brackets. The moment you experience a serious crash, the brackets would break and the Lipo battery would eject from the frame 🤣. This obviously fixes that1. Shoes: Another recommendation was to design landing gear so the drone doesn’t land on bottom bolts. Now the Whoopski has newly designed “Feet / Shoes” printed out of TPU. Landing the drone feels solid and doesn’t sound scratchy. 👟2. Finally, I’m experimenting with different filament types for the propeller guards… PETG. The previous PLA Tough filament is fantastic. Strong and print easily but the issue I ran into was on hot days when the gaurds would warp and seize the propeller/ motors. PETG is claimed to be better for elements, we’ll see 👀What do you guys think of the new upgrades!Also I’m really digging the Bronze 😎. by @fly.whoops

A lot of work went into building this cinewhoop drone from the ground up and It’s really awesome getting to finally put it to work! 🙌. So many design tweaks went into this project and I’m really impressed with the way it turned out. It’s been too cold outside to go fly this thing in a wall so we’re going to improvise. ❄️ .Wanted to show you guys how Whoopski stood up to some impact testing by slamming it on the ground. PLA Tough/Pro definitely has its place on FPV drones. .TPU for the longest has been the standard, but in my opinion its too flexible for propeller protection and it’s heavier as well, the TPU is great for camera mounts, which is still used on here..When I was designing this, I tried all different types of filament and the PLA Pro/Tough takes the cake. You don’t have to dry it like TPU and it’s pretty dam durable for my purposes. Just finished up documenting the build process of the Whoopski! 🙌 Full documentation on the Whoopski support page!.Super simple 3 stage build. 1️⃣: Solider the motors and fasten all components to the bottom plate. 2️⃣: Attach the standoffs to the prop guards / camera mount & fasten to the bottom plate.3️⃣: Mount the FPV system to the top plate and fasten to complete the build. 🛠️..I also designed this frame so the prop guards are in pairs unlike most pusher style Cinewhoops that are all one piece. If the guard gets damaged you can easily swap out the pair that is damaged..If you have ever been interested in building your own drone / cinewhoop. Shoot me a DM, this build is as easy as it gets!
