POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

#nationalradioday July 9th, 2013 — the day I walked into my very first radio internship. A month later, I was officially hired. And on December 12th, 2014, Eric Matthews gave me my first on-air shot, letting me do the halftime scores during a high school football game.
I never intended to be on air. I just wanted to be close to music and learn the craft of audio.
Since then, I’ve had the chance to sit down with legends like Ice Cube, DeRay Davis, and T.I. My very first interview was with @jpegjuke & ron for the Blueprint Awards, and just a month later, I landed my first celebrity interview with Bill Bellamy.
BIG shout out to Ange & Skip Elliot, who has taught me alot and is still there when i dont know what im doing.
And my lady who basically works for free at the radio station. Lol

The Beat took over Red Mile and baby… WE HAD A TIMEEE! 🐎🔥😂

From the all-you-can-eat clubhouse buffet 🍽️ to watching the horses hit the track, we got the FULL Red Mile experience! We even rode around the track during a race, met some of the horses and jockeys, AND tried our luck with a few bets! 👀💰

And let’s just say… Fly KP walked away with some BIG MONEY! 😂💸🙌🏾

Good food, live racing, good vibes and plenty of laughs! If you haven’t experienced Red Mile yet, what are you waiting for?! Head over and get in on the fun! 🐎🎉

XXL Freshman lists have been rough the last few years I ain't gonna lie. But this year's class? This might be the best one they've dropped in a minute!!

I know a lot of people are saying, "Who are these artists?" but if you haven't checked out @lareezymusic yet, go do that I've been following him for a while.. If you're a fan of early Nicki Minaj vibes go check out @itsmstrim , and Belly Gang Kushington is decent too.

Those are the three names that stand out to me right now. The rest of the class? I'm still checking them out.

What's your take on this XXL Freshman class? by @fly_kp_

🎙️ SPONSOR #3 IS OFFICIAL!

We are proud to announce that 107.9 The Beat has joined the Next Level Hoops family as our third official sponsor! 🏀📻

Shoutout to @fly_kp_ and @what_shayna_say for believing in what we’re building here in Lexington! 🤝🏾

What this means for the NLH community — our weekly sessions, summer camps, FCPS league games and more are going to be reaching ears all across the city through one of Lexington’s most listened to stations. The visibility this brings to our kids and this program is something we don’t take lightly.

This is Black professionals supporting one another and investing in the youth of this city. We love to see it. 🖤

To the parents, players and Lexington community — stay tuned. Big things are coming. 👀

Let’s get to the next level — TOGETHER! 🏀 taken in Lexington, Kentucky by @fly_kp_
