A classic caddis emerger pattern with my own little variation: fine rubber legs tied in to add extra movement.
Hook: Hanak H200BL #14
Shuck: Poly yarn
Body: SLF Spikey Dub
Wing: Deer hair
Legs: Shaggy Dub

The fine rubber legs bring the fly to life and create a great surface footprint.

I remember fishing a mountain lake where freshly emerged caddisflies would drift on the cold water for a long time, their pupal shucks still attached to their bodies.

Those newly emerged caddisflies, struggling on the cold surface with their shucks still attached, made an easy target for the lake’s Arctic char.
