Talofa friends! 🤙🏽

This first post is of my very first fly fishing experience I had back in December 2025. I had been spinner fishing before this and always wanted to try fly fishing. My wife’s cousin Mike @flyfishwithmeutah was my guide and took me on the Provo and literally got me hooked on fly fishing. First photo is my first fish and brown trout on a fly rod.

I’m definitely new to all this. As I’ve learned more about the industry, I’ve come to appreciate the craft and history but more importantly, the beauty that God has created. Fish or no fish, every trip I’ve had so far has been a time to reflect on myself and my relationship with God, my family, and others.

Since starting my fly fishing journey, I realized there’s so much Utah has to offer. I built an app just for Utah fishing that is evolving to make it better for beginners and experienced anglers to enjoy what Utah has to offer while educating all on the importance of being good stewards and respecting the resources given to us. Finding that balance is important. While I don’t believe in gatekeeping public Utah waters, I believe in practicing ethical methods to help protect our resources by not sharing exact location coordinates or hotspots. Tested the new Redington Field Kit Euro rod and Redington Run reel. Caught 3 species (Rainbow - 1; Brook - 2; Brown - 1) on the Provo River in the Uinta Mountains. 🍂 🎣 taken in Uinta Mountains by @flyfishventures

Went searching for Golden Trout but instead came back with golden memories to tell. Ended up catching 14 trout total—10 Brook Trout (8 from the lake; 1 from the creek; 1 from river), 4 Rainbow Trout (all from the river).

High Uintas adventure included rain, off-roading, catching Brook Trout in alpine lake and creek and Rainbow Trout in river. Trusty Land Cruiser got us there and back home safely. ⛰️ 🎣 taken in Utah, USA by @flyfishventures
