Presented by Scientific Anglers , Fly Fusion Magazine and IF4™, the Stimmies celebrate the very best in fly fishing filmmaking from around the world. This year's finalists represent remarkable storytelling, breathtaking cinematography, unforgettable adventures, inspiring people and powerful conservation stories, all brought together by a shared passion for fly fishing.

From July 27 through August 31, you can watch every finalist and cast one vote in each category: Professional Filmmaker and Emerging Filmmaker.

Take the time to experience every film before making your selections. Whether you're inspired by incredible destinations, moved by personal stories, or passionate about conservation and the future of our sport, there's a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Vote early! Every voter is automatically entered into our weekly prize draws, and by voting now you'll qualify for all four weekly draws to win a Scientific Anglers and Fly Fusion swag pack.

PROFESSIONAL FILMMAKER WINNER
Shadow People | Backwater Media Productions
Shadow People follows April Vokey and Sam Lungren into the remote wilderness of Guyana in pursuit of arapaima, peacock bass, arowana and payara. Along the way, the film explores an extraordinary fishery while shining a light on the uncontacted Indigenous peoples who continue to live in this remote region.

EMERGING FILMMAKER WINNER
Trapped Still | Jade Hertz
Trapped Still follows conservationists with The Trout Trust as they expose a hidden crisis affecting Alberta’s wild trout. Every year, thousands of fish are swept into irrigation canals and trapped in a system designed for water, not wildlife. The film highlights both the problem and the people working to protect these fish and restore balance to Alberta’s waterways.

Congratulations to @backwaterflyfishing and @jadehertz, and a huge thank you to every filmmaker who participated in this year’s Stimmies. The quality of the films was exceptional, and we’re grateful to everyone who shared their stories with us.

FlyFest is coming to Redding!

Join us September 25 and 26 at the Redding Civic Auditorium for Fly Fishers International FlyFest 2026, presented by The Fly Shop. Two full days of casting demonstrations, fly tying, workshops, destination seminars, conservation programming and plenty of time spent talking fly fishing.

This year’s headline presenter is George Daniel, with presentations and instruction throughout the event, plus the FFI Dinner & Auction Friday evening where George will serve as keynote speaker.

Day passes are just $20 and available online or in person at The Fly Shop. FlyFest attendees can also receive a one-time 15% discount at The Fly Shop on September 25 and 26 with proof of attendance.

Come learn something new, meet fellow anglers and spend a couple of days immersed in fly fishing right here in Redding.
