Day 1: The first step toward mobility. 🙌🏽💪🏽 After months of relentless advocacy, I finally secured this appointment for my dad to begin his journey to regain movement. This is just the start, but every small win counts. Here’s to fighting for progress, one step at a time. ✨ #ChucksCourageousHeart #SoloCaretaker #FightingforMobility #ChucksHealthJourney taken in Silver Spring, Maryland by @flyin_above

Still on a high from the Forty Under 40 Awards Ceremony, grateful beyond words to be recognized by the George Mason University Black Alumni Chapter 💚🖤💛

This journey has never just been about the title. It’s about community. It’s about legacy. And it’s about lifting others as we climb. From organizing, mentoring, and leading as a student to now working in defense, advocating for equity in STEM, and mentoring future innovators, this recognition affirms the purpose behind the work.

Thank you @gmubac for this incredible honor and for creating space to celebrate Black excellence. So proud to represent Mason and stand beside such inspiring honorees.

Onward, this is only the beginning. ✨

I'm extremely excited to announce that today, August 29, 2022, marks the beginning of my Ph.D. Journey in Electrical Engineering with an Artificial Intelligence - Machine Learning focus at the University of Maryland.

I am beyond grateful to be admitted and have the ability to pursue a higher education at the University of Maryland - A. James Clark School of Engineering. I am blessed to be named as a Clark Doctoral Fellow with full-time support. I’m extremely thankful for my family, friends and mentors that supported me throughout this process.

There’s science behind the smile. 🧠

One thing I’ve learned is that our facial expressions can influence how we feel.

Research on the facial feedback hypothesis suggests that intentionally smiling can create a small boost in positive emotions, even when life isn’t necessarily going the way we planned.

That’s why I make an intentional effort to smile during some of my most challenging seasons.

Not because everything is perfect. Not because I’m ignoring what I’m experiencing. But because I recognize that I have some influence over how I respond to life’s difficulties.

Sometimes the smile comes naturally. Other times, it’s intentional.

Either way, I’m choosing to find moments of joy along the way. 🙏🏽💗✨

The goal isn’t to stay busy. The goal is to get better. One equation, one concept and one day at a time.

Quick mandatory mirror time. The mirror costs way too much not to…
