Another commission completed, this one of a beautiful black cat named Mitten.

I loved working on this piece, and is my first time painting a largely black animal, but I have learnt a lot from this.

I definitely enjoyed painting this beautiful cat, "Bella," and I hope her owner enjoys the painting as much as I enjoyed creating it.

I have begun my newest commission, and am very excited to share it with you all! This beautiful dog will be my project for the next few weeks, and I hope I can recreate her perfectly

Now to begin painting, and truly bring her to life!

I've been having a lot of fun painting this Northern Flicker over the weekend, in the few spare moments I had, however I may have to put it on hold as I have some new commissions to start...

Stay tuned to meet some adorable furry friends!

I've started a quick sketch while relaxing in a hotel by the coast!

I've decided to try experimenting with this new layout, and using a very thin strip has certainly made this a bit more challenging. I am really enjoying this piece so far however, and I can't wait to see how it progresses!

Day 4 of birdtober is none other than the gouldian finch, a bird that is sometimes kept as a pet due to its vibrant colours.

This was a striking piece to paint, although I am not completely content with the colour of the background that I chose.

I have finally come up with a range of colour schemes... now to figure out which one I like most to become my personal design!

Day 3 of birdtober brings the resplendent quetzal, a beautiful bird native to central America.

This painting was a little more challenging to complete, but I love how it turned out, and how vibrant it is!

In addition to my progress on birdtober, I have been working on a some business card designs. Here are the empty designs... now to add a pop of colour!

I want to come up with a few different colour schemes before deciding on the one I want to have as my permanent design.

Keep a look out to give your opinions!

It's day 2 of birdtober with the beautiful I'iwi, a vibrant bird native to Hawaii.

I am very proud of this piece, and thoroughly enjoyed painting all the feather details alongside the shading for the legs and branch, however I wasn't really sure how to deal with the foreground.

I am still happy about how the piece turned out, and can't wait for tomorrow's piece, so stay tuned!

It's finally time... October brings the famed Birdtober, and I finally decided to take part this year. I won't be completing all of them on time, but for day 1, here is the lilac breasted roller!

The lilac breasted roller is a highly colourful bird native to southern and eastern Africa, with a diet consisting mostly of insects.

I had a lot of fun painting this bird, it's such a vibrant species and an amazing start to this month!
