Views from our little fishing boat on a lake accessible only by seaplane in the Alaskan wilderness ✈️ 🐻

After our time in Homer, Alaska, we headed towards a town called Seward. Along the way we stopped in Sodoltna to depart on a seaplane for a half-day salmon-fishing expedition. We flew over mountains and glaciers to the Big River Lakes where we caught salmon, watched bears and entrusted our lives to our new friend Fisherman Bill. 😜🎣 Truly an adventure we’ll never forget.

Today our tiniest adventurer turns 5. Born into a Covid world in June of 2020, he spent his first year not traveling, but instead social distancing and seeing only the top halves of the faces around him 😷. Since the reopening of the World, it’s been nonstop adventure for this kid - at home, abroad, and everywhere in between. 🌎 ✈️ 🌄 We can’t wait to see what this next year brings for him!

A pic of one of the most beautiful places on Earth (Milford Sound, New Zealand) to celebrate #earthday! 🌎

This Milford Sound waterfall is well over 500ft high, 3x the height of Niagara Falls! The tallest cliffs surrounding the Sound rise over 4-5,000ft out of the water. 😮 It’s hard to capture the magnitude on camera 📸 but it’s breathtakingly beautiful either way!

Okay, so it’s not *quite* the reason we went to Cambodia, but who doesn’t love a good family scavenger hunt?! Honestly, I was looking for ALL the ways to keep 3 kids engaged while visiting the temples of Angkor over 3 days. I call this one a win! 🙌

While it’s almost certainly just a depiction of a rhino or something with leaves behind it and not actual proof of the coexistence of humans and dinosaurs 😂, it was fun to play along and come up with wild theories with the kids.

Fun fact: This is not the first “extraordinary place” from Atlas Obscura that we have visited - in 2023 we stopped in Te Anau, New Zealand to see the glow worm caves. A must-do if you are exploring the South Island of NZ!
