✨Cozy and whimsy, fun and fantastical. This is a cozy fantasy for adults with all the soft colors and splendor of youth.⁣⁣
It is a book for adults, mind.⁣⁣
(I did have certain issues with some particulars, especially a scene involving children saying things inappropriate for their age, which unsettled and upset me. And another concern I’d shared in my stories with those I knew would care.)⁣⁣

🏡That aside, this book was a lovely experience. Much like the inn in the story, a little solace and refuge for those in need of it.⁣⁣
💘I also want to point out, while this isn’t exactly a cosy “romance” as the author’s previous book, the main romance in this one is still prevalent and written with depth and connection throughout.⁣⁣

✨One theme I loved in this book, wrapped in a tale of magic and whimsy, is the ultimate truth of reality: surviving.⁣⁣
The story explores the weight of depression, unfolding as a journey of opening one’s eyes and heart.⁣⁣
And yes, it was cozy and warm, with funny and fun moments in abundance (I especially loved the heist scenes), but it was that deeper theme, and how it was developed, that truly stood out.⁣⁣

✍️However, the book did drag out at times and I felt like it should have ended sooner for such a story.⁣⁣
I prefer the author’s previous book, but this one was a much needed cozy read. by @flymeawayy

✍🏼 It reflects horrors we see today, intricately threaded into a fictional world with magical symbolism, while still echoing the realities it draws from. ⁣⁣⁣
Even if you don’t — which is hard to achieve — want to see the parallels, you’ll still enjoy this journey and adventure, with its palpable emotions, textured world building, unique magic system, and unyielding scenes that topple in succession like a cascade of falling dominoes.⁣⁣⁣
(However, that momentum does stumble briefly at intervals, weighed down by redundant introspection and conversations.) ⁣⁣⁣

👩🏻‍🔬The main characters are nuanced and ever-evolving in ways grounded in realism amid such turbulent circumstances. They will leave you both inspired and deeply reflective. ⁣⁣⁣

You may be wondering why am I reposting this? A post from two years ago?⁣

Well, ⁣
⁣
✨First, instagram took the audio down from my old post of this, because I used music from their own options and they keep removing the music they offer due to copyright. (I posted it 2 years ago maybe)⁣
⁣
✨Second, and more important, I kind of missed this world. And I reedited this (two years ago but kept it in my phone’s gallery) to be slower than my last post like it.⁣
And I found myself thinking about maybe reading the third book.⁣
This (the 2nd book) was the last I read in this series and LOVED it. ⁣
⁣
⁣
So now the third is on my TBR since I started to miss this world.⁣
⁣
⁣
A fact about me; I am very bad at reading trilogies or duologies.⁣
I end up not continuing and reading other books instead.⁣
Until, I really miss the world.⁣
⁣
⁣
💘I do want to see Eva and Jacks end up together so will see if I pick it up soon. ⁣And all the other secrets and mystery of that magical world.

“ Beg, Borrow, Or Steal” by @authorsarahadams

✨This book was… oh, it was wonderful.⁣
And with this edit I tried to capture them in a photo (in the middle) in the scene from where they’re stuck in the hallway closet in a way that is reminiscent to the heist scene it’s probably inspired from in “How To Steal A Million.” (The book even mentions the movie❤️) ⁣
That is probably my favorite movie and this book has become one of my favorites! ⁣

Emily and Jackson have been rivals since college and also teachers at the same elementary school. Jackson is back in town after leaving to get married when his engagement broke off, and he wants to see why he can’t get Emily out of his head. So now, they’re neighbours much to her initial detriment. ⁣
⁣
This is a beautiful tale of enemies/ rivals to lovers that I would say perfectly depicts soulmates without having to right out say the word. ⁣
The characters are so interesting ( I LOVED them) and layered and they both peel back those deep emotional layers with one another so seamlessly that the chemistry is both sizzling and heartwarming. ⁣
The writing of their dynamic and scenes has you completely pulled in to the romantic build up. ⁣
⁣
The narrative also creates a true emotional connection with the reader, in the way that it digs deep yet without being redundant or too heavy with the characters’ inner turmoil. ⁣
⁣
Not a dull moment with this book.⁣
⁣
It was fun, funny, captivating, and absolutely romantic (so many moments and quotes pulled at my heart). You love the characters and root for their love. ⁣
All in all, this is one of the BEST romances I have read. ⁣
⁣
✨ On a side note, Emily, the fmc, was so unique, yet felt so relatable. Her fears and worries and how she just feels so much. I loved her.⁣
And Jackson, I developed a crush on his character very early on in the book 😂 ⁣
They are both imperfectly perfect.⁣
⁣
ALSO ⁣
🎧 The AUDIOBOOK. Amazing.⁣
The voice actors did an amazing job! So grateful to them for bringing the characters to life in my head with their convincing acting and voices. ⁣

Maggie Holt has been haunted all her life by a character based on herself as a child from her father’s best selling true horror story novel that tells accounts of their stay at Baneberry Hall mansion 25 years ago.⁣

Maggie believes it is all a lie, since she has no recollection of those events. Thus, when her father dies and she inherits the estate, she decides to uncover the truth her father never admitted to. If anything, he always asked her to never step foot in there again. Her, especially. ⁣
⁣
The book is packed with interesting characters, twists and turns that keep you at the edge of your seat, mystery and intrigue at every turn of the page. ⁣
Reading this was an exciting and fun experience. ⁣
⁣
Definitely want to read another book like it. Still searching for that.⁣
⁣
Highly recommend it if you like thrillers and mystery. ⁣

This book is loosely based on Sleepless In Seattle, one of my favorite movies. 🌃⁣⁣

Host of a Baltimore hit radio show called Heartstrings, a romance hotline, Aiden Valen struggles with the idea and belief of romance and good things happening in life due to personal circumstances. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
One night, a twelve year old girl calls the show to help her mother find love. This kickstarts the journey of Heartstrings finding Lucie a date.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The book starts off fast and exciting and then takes a slower turn.⁣⁣
I felt the 440+ pages were too much for such a topic and story.⁣⁣
Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. The characters had great chemistry, and I loved how the grumpy/sunshine dynamic played out. ⁣⁣
The book had heartwarming moments to remember and a love story that feels real and genuine throughout. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The side characters were very interesting and I’m glad to know my favorite will have his own book too. Jackson, can’t wait for your book. (Probably based on When Harry Met Sally. I think this is a series based on Nora Ephron books😍)⁣⁣

However, the book didn’t grip me at all times, felt a bit slow, but it kept me going enough to want to know what happens between these characters and wanting to reach the moments that tie everything all together beautifully. And it did.⁣⁣

🌳A rich history of wood, trees , magic, a Shepard King and an intricate and deeply rooted magic system that weaves into and from that history and its compelling story. It also shape the secrets, backgrounds, world building. ⁣

🗡️I love the characters, they are deeply layered with dynamics you’ll love and romances that will sweep your heart away with their beautiful developments and heart warming scenes. ⁣
⁣
👑 I loved that Ravyn’s role is much more prominent here. He is such an interesting and layered character. And the Shepard King and his story, I know will stay with me.⁣
⁣
🎴And while I absolutely loved Elm’s character development and romance, I just wished that some of his earlier chapters were cut shorter, because the other plot of the story was faster paced and more gripping and I felt needed more attention.⁣
But the book switched seamlessly between both. The excitement and suspense kept going. ⁣
⁣
✨ I do have some lingering questions and a few things I wished the book got into more.⁣
All in all, this duology has been one of the best stories I’ve read this year. ⁣

🔥 This felt like watching a fantasy adventure movie! With breathtaking scenes that have you on the edge of anticipation. ⁣

🪿✨ A dark retelling of the Brothers Grimm “The Goose Girl” in a regency fairytale that has mystery, murder, magic and a touch of horror. ⁣

🐎The story starts with a fourteen year old girl, Cordelia, whose abusive mother is a Sorceress with plans to marry her daughter off to a wealthy lord. Her plan to accomplish that is by seducing a squire herself first, but little does she know, the squire’s sister, lady Hester, proves to be a hindrance to her plans when they come to live with her and her brother.⁣
⁣
✍🏼 While the story is essentially dark with heavy themes, it is alleviated by the author’s entertaining way of writing simply by coloring the characters’ individual wit and voices. ⁣
They were vibrant and audacious and you completely root for them. ⁣
And there was a layer of warmth to the story beneath all the suspense.⁣
⁣
🖋️The book also delves into the issue of an abusive parent and we see that unfold through Cordelia’s struggle and character development. ⁣
⁣
📖 The start of the book was a bit slow but it picked up well and fast after. 🔥 ⁣
I wanted the magic system to be further explored because it was so interesting. But enough was explored and revealed already to tie the knots. ⁣
⁣
💕I was also completely invested in the romance that was a surprise to me. I didn’t expect there would be one. ⁣
⁣
I loved this! ⁣
⁣
✨Pick this up if you want a fairytale adventure with captivating characters and plot. by @flymeawayy
