The one where I hang up my wings.🕊️

They say “if you never go you’ll never know”. There are experiences that can’t be fully understood until you live them yourself & being a flight attendant in my early twenties is one that gave me a perspective on the world that would have otherwise probably taken me years to gain. There’s something special about meeting people from all walks of life that shifts your perspective & if I had to relive my life, I’d go for it again with no hesitation - It taught me so much; about what I (don’t) want, what’s (not) important, what happiness is (not) & that “plus on croit savoir, moins on sait”.

It’s been a wild ride. One of the wildest rides of my life. I lived my crew life fully; left Paris during the last year of my master’s, went out on every single layover as if I’d never return to that city again, gave first aid, dealt with smoke detectors going off, finished two travel diaries, woke up at odd hours (sometimes 2 am, sometimes 2 pm) to go to work, was pulled as R1 on a B777, witnessed the northern lights from the cockpit, (actually!) had breakfast in Italy and dinner in New York, used oxygen bottles on unconscious passengers, had way too many milk jiggers with my tea (not as much as @/alessandro though), gave and received so much love, & so much more I’ll keep in my heart. I wouldn’t trade these memories for anything. It has been the adventure of a lifetime; the kind of adventure I’ll tell my kids someday.

But with every takeoff comes a landing, and this one is mine. So many dreams, so little time. And really, what else are my twenties for if not to explore them all?

There are certain moments that are forever locked in your memories. For me, my very first supernumerary (supy) flight on the A380 was one of those – I was full of excitement and nerves, but it was time to “trust the magic of new beginnings”! “There’s no such thing as being completely ready. You’re never going to feel like you’ve got everything sorted and all figured out. If you get to the place where you’re just a little bit more excited than afraid, that’s when you go for it. That’s when you go all in”. I gave my all & the flight itself went so quickly – it really is special making people smile and doing something with passion! I loved every second of it. A take-off and landing in the cockpit (one of my childhood dream) with the best captain and first officer ever, a compliment, a surreal view of Europe from the plane window that was now “my office view” & to top it off… snow! ✨🛬🇪🇺

The one where I officially graduate after passing all the required assessments (11+ exams) in 2 days, finishing a 40 qcm in >2 minutes, writing the portfolio during a layover in Jakarta and flying to 20+ countries during my probation period! 🥰

After 8 weeks of intense training in Aviation College, khalass this was the moment we earned our wings and officially became Emirates Cabin Crew!
