15 Years of Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Mexico

Last week, FMS Mexico celebrated a very special milestone: the branch’s 15-year anniversary.

Over the past 15 years, the team has grown from a small group with big ambitions into an established operation. It has taken a lot of hard work, commitment and teamwork to get here – from building the right structures and gaining the trust of the market to becoming an important part of our global organisation.

A heartfelt thank you to our colleagues in Mexico for their dedication, team spirit and the work they put in every day. We would also like to thank our customers and business partners who have been part of this journey and accompanied us along the way.

The first 15 years have laid a strong foundation. We look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings and to continuing this journey together!

Front Shipping AS becomes Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Norway AS

We are pleased to announce that our Norwegian subsidiary, formerly known as Front Shipping AS, will now operate under the name Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Norway AS.
This name change marks an important milestone in the integration following FMS’s acquisition of the Norwegian logistics provider in March 2026 and further strengthens our presence in Scandinavia.

With branches in Oslo and Ålesund, alongside our three locations in Sweden, FMS continues to expand its regional footprint across Northern Europe. The Norwegian team brings strong expertise in project logistics and container shipping, complementing FMS’s international network across more than 35 countries.

Together, we are even better positioned to support customers with complex logistics requirements in Scandinavia and around the world.

As Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Norway AS, the team will continue to combine local market knowledge, specialized logistics expertise, and the global capabilities of the FMS network.

Welcome to the next chapter.

In international logistics, we connect people, markets and cultures every day. Local business habits, communication styles and infrastructure can strongly influence how smoothly supply chains run and partnerships grow.

Today we are showcasing Guatemala.

Guatemala is the largest economy in Central America and plays an important role in regional trade thanks to its strategic location between North and South America. With a young, entrepreneurial population, a strong agricultural sector, expanding manufacturing and growing digital services, the country offers opportunities for international business and investment. Its exports include coffee, bananas, sugar, cardamom, textiles and other manufactured goods, while free trade agreements support access to key international markets. In business, building personal relationships, showing respect and reliability, and combining professionalism with warm, personal communication are essential.
Beyond the office, Guatemala impresses with its rich cultural heritage, ancient Maya sites such as Tikal, colorful colonial architecture in Antigua Guatemala, spectacular volcanoes, Lake Atitlán and diverse landscapes stretching from the Pacific coast to the Caribbean.

First European Sales Meeting 2026

Last week, our European Business Development and Sales Managers met in Hamburg for an intensive two-day Sales Meeting.

The program was built around interactive sessions, workshops and open discussions, offering the team valuable time to exchange market insights, discuss customer needs and identify sales opportunities across Europe.
Our BDMs shared local market insights and practical experiences, working together on ideas to strengthen customer relationships in a challenging environment. The meeting helped align priorities and set a clear focus for the months ahead.
The two days also highlighted our greatest strength: our people. Bringing everyone together strengthened connections, reinforced our European sales network and underlined the value of close cross-border collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who contributed with ideas, insights and energy!
We are looking forward to putting the discussions into practice and continuing to grow our business together across Europe.

From Paper to Digital: The Future of Bills of Lading

At Fr. Meyer’s Sohn, we use electronic Bills of Lading (eBLs) to make global trade more efficient, transparent and secure.

By moving from paper to digital, we save time, simplify processes and make document handling easier and more secure. Digital documents can be transferred instantly, reducing the risk of documents getting lost or delayed in transit – helping keep global supply chains moving.

Together with our partner Enigio, we are implementing digital solutions that make shipping documentation simpler, safer and more efficient.

A big thank you to our colleagues Olaf Rathgeb and Florian Tabel for sharing their insights.

We move you forward – making logistics reliable and uncomplicated.

In international logistics, we connect people, markets and cultures every day. Local business habits, communication styles and infrastructure can strongly influence how smoothly supply chains run and partnerships grow.

Today we are showcasing India. 🇮🇳

India offers numerous strong location advantages. The country has a large, young, and highly skilled workforce, particularly in the fields of technology, engineering, and services. India is known for its strong IT sector, innovation hubs, and rapidly growing digital economy. In addition, the country provides cost-efficient skilled labor and a competitive business environment. Its cultural diversity and the widespread use of the English language facilitate cooperation with international partners. Furthermore, the expansion of infrastructure and the large domestic market create many opportunities for growth.

Business in India is relationship‑driven and shaped by hierarchy. Decisions are often made at senior levels, so identifying the true decision‑maker early is essential. Meetings may involve indirect communication, and patience is important as timelines can be flexible. Trust, long‑term commitment, and personal rapport matter greatly. Clear instructions and structured follow‑ups help ensure alignment, as organizations often expect explicit guidance from leadership.
