Central Arkansas Food not Bombs can use YOUR help! We are a grassroots volunteer led organization dedicated to food sovereignty and mutual aid. Multiple times throughout the month, we serve warm meals and provide supplies to our community. There are many ways you can get involved, either by bringing a dish or helping with meal prep, serving during a meal, help with set up or clean up, or by donating to our pantry.

In light of recent events, Central Arkansas Food not Bombs will be taking a short hiatus.

For those who do not know, there have been allegations of abuse from several community members against leadership at Iron & Ink. In light of this information, we will be taking some time to reflect on the last year, reset our goals, reassess our partnerships, and plan for the year ahead.

We are actively working on ensuring the neighbors who rely on those meals remain informed of these and future updates. by @fnb_centralar

It's Virgo season, and our resident Virgos want to celebrate by inviting you to a special Witch-In-The-Woods-themed weekend!

Friday, join us at Iron and Ink Collective for The People’s Table, our weekly community meal with Food Not Bombs. This week, we'll be whipping up some delicious earthy soul food together and enjoying good conversations and great vibes, as always. Help with prep anytime from 3-5ish, or simply come for a plate. At the same time, drop by with any of our requested Things (see slide 4) for the Thing Drive. 🥰

Saturday, the weather will be perfect for a Garden City workday! The Garden City community garden around the corner from Beautywood Books will be getting a new irrigation system 🥳 and we'll be pulling up weeds and sharing potatoes. If you've been needing to touch grass, this is just the thing for you. 😅

Whatever you do this weekend, we hope you find time to nurture yourself and your environment and let go of anything that is holding you back.

Hello friends, we wanted to share an update regarding the future of The People’s Table.

On Sunday, a meeting was held at Iron and Ink with orgs and organizers that had collaborated with Iron and Ink and the orgs within over the last few years. Food not Bombs steering committee was present, as well as multiple people who have helped with Food not Bombs in the years and with The People’s Table. In full transparency, it was announced that Iron & Ink may need to change locations, as well as possible locations that they are looking at should that happen. As you know, our collaborative weekly meal is held at Iron and Ink, and we wanted to share with you what that means for The People’s Table.

The People’s Table as we know it began at the beginning of this year, through our existing kinship ties with Iron and Ink through our collaboration with Beautywood Books for one of or monthly meals (which will be returning next month) and our shared focus on food sovereignty. In support, Iron and Ink has since supplied a kitchen, pantry space, help running and organizing that space, space to host event and meetings, as well as held events that directly supported The People’s Table and the pantry. This space and support has enabled us to grow our kinship ties and welcome more volunteers, and we have been able to sustainably serve an average of 30-60 people each week across 6-7 meals throughout the month.

We had come to understand through this work together that Food Sovereignty takes all of us, in kinship and reciprocity, and we have been beyond grateful for the support that Iron & Ink has given this work that we with Central Arkansas Food not Bombs dedicate ourselves to.

We have since been discussing with Iron and Ink what the possibility of moving will look like for The People’s Table.
Regardless if it’s at Cross St. or another location, our shared priority is still food sovereignty, and we will continue to serve meals every Friday alongside Iron and Ink. The work continues and is bigger than one building. [continued in comments] by @fnb_centralar
