Thank you Rotterdam 🙏🏻

What an incredible way to end our two month European tour. We are completely blown away by this festival. To our musician friends: it was an honor to share a stage with y’all. To the festival organizers: thank you for creating this space, between the lineup you organized and the folks you gathered to enjoy it, your care and passion is so evident. To the audience: you brought the good vibes and made us feel so welcome - there are no words. @bluegrassfestival thank you for the incredible send off! We’ll be riding this high all the way home ✈️ taken in Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival by @fogholler

Friends of Fog, hail! It’s been a long while since we’ve plugged in the Ethernet cable and dialed into these social spheres. We’re are all peachy keen, swell as can be and have some exciting news to share today!

As many of you may be aware, our bass fiddlin @pynxis has been cooking up a sumptuous banquet of bass focused music to release to the world. Their album “Late Bloomer” will be released tomorrow, Sun 6/28 at 9pm PST - find it on your favorite service, and give it a listen. Not only will you hear Noa fully flex their facility on their instrument, but an array of PDX acoustic talent as well. Holler members @banjomancer and @sommy_tchulz are featured on the record, along with old friends of the holler @lilliansawyerfiddle + @claytone11

IF you live in Portland, you have the chance to hear it LIVE before anyone else. There will be a full playthrough of the album with all the cats at @thehallowedhallspdx 6/28 at 7pm. Don’t miss it! by @fogholler

Dear Fog Family,

We’re excited to announce that founding Fog Holler member Tommy Schulz will be returning in 2026! His picking, harmonies, and all-around good vibes are a huge part of what makes Fog Holler, well… Fog Holler. We’re thrilled to have him back on the mic and in the van!

We also want to give a big shoutout to Joel Cofield, who held it down on guitar this past year. His playing, heart, and good humor brought so much to our shows, and we’re so grateful for the time we shared.

Fog Holler continues to grow, shift, and evolve—and through it all, your support keeps us grounded and energized. We’re writing new music, dreaming up new shows, and feeling really good about what’s ahead.

Thanks for riding with us. See you soon, somewhere down the road.

Today's featured band: Fog Holler. They are performing Thursday and Friday.
Fog Holler is a bluegrass band with an edge. What gives them that edge is a topic of hot debate. For some, it’s musicianship – these bluegrass cats shred. For others, it’s the songwriting, traditional in style but topical in substance. Sometimes, they undeniably snare people with the squad factor – folks see 4 grown adults in matching monochrome, and they get curious. The secret, according to Fog Holler, is simply that they write and play bluegrass in 2024, with similar intention but very different context from the genre’s originators. Inspired by a range of influences from The Stanley Brothers to Buck Owens to Meshuggah, Fog Holler breathes fresh life into well worn forms like the murder ballad and the power waltz. Described by two-time Grammy Award Winner Cathy Fink as “The next generation of the many shades of grass,” Fog Holler’s captivating tunes and coordinated outfits are quickly enthralling longtime bluegrass fans and newcomers alike.
