🌊🤙 What an incredible Paddle Imua 2026!

A huge mahalo to everyone who made this year’s Paddle Imua such a special event. From the volunteers and organizers to every athlete on the water—what an amazing day! With over 315 competitors on the starting line, the energy at Maliko was absolutely unreal.

A massive congratulations to Jon McCabe for winning the inaugural Parawing Division on the Triple Seven P.T. Skin 7.3m! What an incredible performance and a huge milestone for our sport. 🪂🏆

Congratulations as well to Kane DeWilde and the KT Foiling team for taking the win in the SUP Foil division. Amazing riding! 👏

When the best riders and the best equipment come together, the result is simply magic.

🌊 Paddle Imua 2026 – Race Day Setup 🤙

Today I’ll be lining up at Maliko Gulch for the 15th Annual Paddle Imua—the longest-running downwind race in the world and, for the first time, featuring a Parawing division! What an incredible milestone for our sport.

For this year’s race, I’m keeping my setup simple, reliable, and fast.

🪂 Triple Seven UDW – 3.2m & 4.1m
🏄 Frank Custom Downwind Board
⚡ KT Foiling Apex 77 Mast – Ultra High Modulus Carbon
⚡ KT Solus 930 Front Wing
⚡ KT Pulse 115 Tail

I decided to race a little more conservatively this year. Instead of the faster 775 front wing, I’m choosing the Solus 930. It offers incredible glide, speed, efficiency, and confidence when the conditions get challenging. My goal is to stay comfortable, avoid getting overpowered, and enjoy every mile from Maliko to Kanahā.

Huge mahalo to Paddle Imua for 15 years of bringing our ocean community together while helping send Maui’s keiki to Camp Imua. It’s an honor to be part of such an amazing event.

🚀 MY DOWNWIND GAME CHANGED COMPLETELY. 🌊🤙

I’ve been chasing better downwind runs for a long time, always looking for more glide, more speed, and more efficiency.

I have to say, since switching to KT Foiling, everything has changed.

And wow... what a combination.

The new Apex 77 mast feels incredibly stiff, fast, and efficient. The reduced drag is noticeable from the first run, and the control at speed gives me confidence to push harder than ever before.

The Solus 930 has completely blown me away. It lifts early, pumps effortlessly, accelerates quickly, and just keeps gliding... and gliding... and gliding.

One of the most impressive things about the new PT-LTX 7.2m isn’t just the incredible low-end power...

It’s how compact and practical this big beast actually is.

Looking at a 7.2m, you’d never expect it to pack down this small and redeploy this easily.

💨 Back in the air in seconds

The reduced double-surface design and lightweight construction make it surprisingly easy to pack away when you’re riding downwind, while the compact bar and clean mixer system help ensure smooth, predictable redeployments every time.

What really blows my mind is that we can now ride in incredibly light wind conditions with a wing this size, pack it away effortlessly, enjoy the bumps, and then quickly redeploy for another upwind run.

🌊🔥 BIG WING. EASY RELAUNCH. 🔥🌊

One thing I was curious about with the new PT-LTX 7.2m was water relaunch.

A wing this big has incredible low-end power, but would it be difficult to get back in the air after touching the water?

The answer surprised me. 🤙

Thanks to the smart wingtip design and lightweight hybrid construction, the PT-LTX 7.2m relaunches remarkably easily. The tips don’t instantly grab and anchor in the water, giving you time to get organized and back in control.

🚀 Fast water relaunch
🌊 Minimal water retention
🤙 Predictable recovery
💨 Quick redeployment
🔥 Confidence for long offshore runs

Even after dropping this big boy in the water, it sheds water quickly and pops back into shape with very little effort.

For me, that’s a huge confidence booster when exploring farther offshore, doing longer downwind runs, or pushing my limits in changing conditions.

The more time I spend on the PT-LTX 7.2m, the more impressed I become. Triple Seven really thought through the details that matter in real-world riding.

One of the biggest surprises with the new PT-LTX 7.2m has been how easy and enjoyable it is to gybe.

Looking at a 7.2m, you might expect it to feel big, slow, and demanding...

But once it’s in the air, it’s a completely different story.

The short line setup helps the wing react quickly, making gybes feel natural and confidence-inspiring. Even for a wing this size, it turns cleanly and predictably without feeling cumbersome.

And honestly, that’s exactly how it feels.

🔥 THE LIGHT WIND MACHINE HAS ARRIVED! 🔥

My new Triple Seven P.T. LTX 7.2m showed up at the perfect time. Light wind has arrived on Maui, and I finally had the chance to put this beast to the test.

Honestly... it exceeded all my expectations. 🤙

For a wing this size, I was surprised by how responsive and easy it is to handle. The steering feels precise, the power delivery is smooth, and it stays incredibly stable in the air.

What really impressed me was how little wind it needs to stay flying and how efficiently it converts every pump into forward motion.
