The @axisfoils 1310 paired with my new @sunova_foil Downwind Elite 6’6 x 21.75 makes paddle ups a dream.

Really enjoying experimenting with different fuselage lengths and mast positions to find the sweet spot to make it as easy as possible.

I have a flat water time goal I want to hit by the end of summer which will be a fun challenge :)

I learn something new every time I head out (as well as also getting fitter!) by @foiltycoon

These are the summer days you dream of… 🌊☀️

Champagne downwind conditions en route back from exploring Motuora and Kawau Island this afternoon.

The most perfect bumps to glide on and it is such a unique sensation - so grateful to be able to enjoy these incredible activities in our beautiful country.

I was riding the cruisy @axisfoils 1300 but this thing can also run quick when needed.
Paired with my AXIS Foils 6’2 100L Hybrid board which I live on in summer as I can flat water paddle it up as well as use for light wind winging. 🙌🏼 by @foiltycoon

Sunrise Sleigh Rides for our end of year Christmas party with the ‘Sunrise Foil Squad’! 🎄

We’ve been meeting up for tow foil sessions before work for the last couple of years. It all started as we shared an office space together and everyone was keen to learn how to tow and wingfoil.

The foiling is fun but it’s the laughs and good times that we love the most!

Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄

300km on foil 🙌🏼
⁣
I have always been interested in physical and mental challenges and wanted to experiment with how I fatigue wingfoiling for an extended period of time.⁣
⁣
I started the session just before 8am at Lake Pupuke with the goal of clicking over 300km and eventually reached the target in 10 hours 15 minutes. ⁣
My average speed was 29.3 kph which I was happy with given that you need to gybe or tack every 60-90 seconds and the first few hours were quite patchy.⁣
⁣
Physically it wasn’t as taxing as anticipated I think due to the lake being very flat so your legs don’t have to continuously adjust as they do over chop or swell - however the middle 150km - 250km was a mental grind as there is no change in scenery and I wished I had brought some music! ⁣
⁣
This was just the fitness test for the real mission where it will be a lot more fun doing it point to point!… :)⁣

Ticked off my first goal of 2023 by competing in the Australian Wing Class Nationals held in Sydney over the weekend. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This was my first time competing overseas in a yachting regatta since I was 12! The aim was to enjoy it and try to be consistent by finishing top 10 each race which I managed to do. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Ended up 6th overall and I know what I need to work on for the next regatta. Thanks to @axisfoils for always supporting me with their latest and greatest foils and also to the team at @ppcfoiling for providing me with their Blend wings to use for racing which I really enjoyed as they go upwind super well. Shout out to @paulsnowhansen who came 4th and was super fun to travel with and Tom, JP and Greg for some epic line ups and gear testing on the Hauraki Gulf over summer. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Hard to beat being out on the water sailing with your mates. 🙌🏼 ⁣

Great to be able to try the new range of @axisfoils Downwind Carbon Foilboards.

This one is 8’6 x 19 @ 120 litres. A very fun board to ride and will be perfect for some long downwind missions!

I am hooked on downwinding and learning so much about picking the right line and using my paddle less and legs as efficiently as possible.

We’ve had some wild and stormy days on the water in NZ over summer. I went full hi-vis mode as I jumped straight into the deep end with the setup on this run before testing how my balance would be on it or if my mast was in the right spot etc.

After a little warm-up I got the sense of the board and where to position myself and was up and away. The long waterline really helps you use a skinnier board and the width of 19 inches is very managaeble as the foil provides you with extra stability when paddling it before you are up on the foil.

I come from a SUP racing background and with the long waterline it felt like if you touched down you could simply glide on a swell, in a similar way you would on a SUP race board, and then easily pop it back up on the foil without losing too much speed.

Well done @axisfoils for these fantastic new additions to your range and looking forward to more downwind adventures. taken in Army Bay by @foiltycoon
