What the hell is all this Fold thing anyways ?!

We are a bunch of people all (mostly) north of 40 who have a passion for putting on a party. This started back in the early 2000s when we were younger and at Uni in Manchester, mostly house parties then graduating to some free parties in the Peak District (big up Dirt Jam crew!).

With time we got our act together, bought even more speakers and put on some actual “real” nights called Fold. We hung origami birds everywhere that were usually stollen, and had a cool sign that has been long lost in someone’s house move ! Mostly played house, DnB and rode the crashing wave of minimal that was big at that time.

Real life then caught us up, as it always does, but we are now at a point where we are bored of being boring and starting to get back out there with our little party.

We usually go for smaller spaces with local DJs who have something to bring (young and older!). We don’t contain ourselves within a Beatport subgenre but if you like something with a beat and don’t take yourself too seriously, chances are we would be a good fit !

We have nothing to do with the other fold in London, althou big ups that is a sick club. Am awaiting the cease and desist note !

Found some old pics in the depths of the internet that shows a bit more. Heavy nostalgia vibes and we all had way more hair !! Enjoy and hopefully see you on our dance floor soon by @foldmcr

That was epic, I don’t have much more to say than that. Love to the guys who came and got the basement pumping @si_fidelity , Nayf, Liam, @_jack_thorpe_ @joe_woodworth246 @liamb1205 as well as @a.n.d.r.e.w.b.l.a.i.r and @catmanjosh_ for getting things well warmed up in the bar before hand. MASSIVE Thanks to all those who came and partied till 4am and finally @stageandradiomcr for just being awesome!

We are excited to be hosting an evening of music and dancing at the South Manchester institution that is The Garden Bar in Chorlton. As someone who has been to this spot several times in the past 20 odd years of living in the ‘Burbs it’s an honour to put a night on here!

We have a bunch of local DJs on from 7pm till late bringing the vibes to kick off your weekend including the excellent @dj_mumu_45 and @approach_release , alongside the usual Fold residents

Entry is free so long as you come to vibe with us for a dance ! As is the case with all our events, posers, mean muggers and judgy Jacks need not apply 💃🕺

Saturday Aug 22nd we are heading back to the excellent stage and radio, graduating to the basement club for something bigger and better!

Kicking off things at 11pm with Cardiff Boyos @si_fidelity and Nayf on b2b duty with some dutty acid style house. @eddyridesabicycle follows our Welsh breadbins with some techy / tribal cuts before Class37 turns the vibe a bit deeper. To wrap up the party we have the high energy Hypeak trio of @_jack_thorpe_ @joe_woodworth246 and @liamb1205 who will be keeping the baselines and drama high till 4am

Cheap ass (£6) early bird tickets now available via RA link in bio. Strictly dancers, party people and good vibes only; posers, doom scrollers and mean muggers need not apply

Next Saturday I will be playing with the @highpeakbass crew for a special event at @nmmarkethall . It’s a pretty cool and unique spot to play some tunes at, well stocked bar with local brews plus some excellent food stalls! There are DJs playing all day Sat and Sun plus vinyl swap and sell and open decks slots.

I will mostly be playing from the shelf in my collection labelled “house music songs I recently paid over the odds for on discogs cause they are from early 2000’s American labels”. I mean it’s unmissable really!

Less than a month to go till we go out / out in town @stageandradiomcr .

Proud to welcome @shakethehorse_ residents Hawsey and @shankeh__ up from Cardiff 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 who will be kicking things off with a vinyl only selection of house cuts.

Fold promoter / chief pestering guy @eddyridesabicycle will follow these Cardiff legends, diving into a vinyl blend of darker tech house

We then roll onto the yoofdem with a trio of upfront bass focused tunes from @_jack_thorpe_ @joe_woodworth246 and @liamb1205

Rounding off proceedings we have the mighty @orbit_soundsystem b2b and with Charlesworths #1 techno selector Liam who will rumble their way into the wee hours!

Tickets on RA (link in Bio) or (more expensive) on the door. All welcome so long as you dance 💃 🕺 🪩
