“Harmony is being different together.” God has given each of us gifts that can bless someone else, and building Zion means making room for those gifts as we follow the Savior together. There is so much joy in helping someone feel loved for who they are.

Loss can leave us wondering how anything beautiful could grow from what remains. But the God who brings life from the soil can also bring hope and healing into our hardest experiences. His nature is to redeem, and even when we can’t yet see how our losses will be made up, we can trust that He is already at work.

➡️ Where have you seen Him bring beauty from ashes in your life?

An Ethiopian family’s journey from crushing debt to seeing their children become a teacher and a pharmacist began with saving 50 cents a week. But when asked what made the difference, the mother pointed to trust: for the first time, she had neighbors she could turn to for help and advice. The gospel of Jesus Christ invites us to become people others can count on as we keep our promises, repent, and care for one another.

➡️ How can we build that kind of trust in our own communities?

When the Oakland Temple’s exterior lights were turned off during an energy crisis, air traffic control called asking for them to come back on. Pilots had been using the temple as a landmark to help them find their way. What a beautiful reminder that the temple points us toward the Savior, whose light can guide us through our darkest moments.

➡️ How has the temple helped you find direction in your life?

We don’t have to wait until our doubts are resolved or our hearts feel lighter to turn to Jesus Christ. We can come to Him with unanswered questions, frustration, and whatever feels heavy today. There is no shame in asking for His light when we’re struggling to find our own.

Building Zion happens as we notice those who are hurting, help carry their burdens, and give without needing recognition. Every act of quiet kindness can remind someone that they are loved and that they don’t have to face their hardest moments alone.

➡️ Who could feel a little less alone because of something you do today?

It’s easy to open Isaiah and think, “I’ll never understand this.” But before we skip those pages, consider the miracle of being able to read words preserved for centuries, in our own language, and invite the Holy Ghost to help us understand. We don’t have to understand every verse to receive something beautiful from the Lord.

➡️ What might we discover if we approached Isaiah with a little more patience and gratitude?

Jesus opened his ministry by reading Isaiah, and the congregation tried to throw him off a cliff. Sharon Eubank, author of Doing Small Things with Great Love and a 29-year veteran of Church humanitarian work, joins Hank and John to explore Isaiah 61 and what it means to build a Zion heart by serving the people right in front of us, and by humbly letting others serve us.
