Some things are better passed on. 🤝

One box, two hands and a whole community behind them.

Today is World Humanitarian Day, and for us at EFBI, humanity has always looked like this: showing up, every time, for families who need it.

Since 2020 we’ve stood by vulnerable families across Enugu. And we’re still going, because compassion doesn’t end with one act. It builds, day by day. 🌾

To everyone who has ever opened a hand for someone else: thank you. You’re the heart of this! 💚

Happy blessed birthday, @chiege_u 🙏🏽

Proud of you, and thanks for challenging (and inviting) us to do this with you guys.🙏🏽👏🏽 by @foodefbi

Last year, @chiege_u told me about an amazing initiative dedicated to helping people. Born out of a desire to combat hunger and support vulnerable communities, I had the privilege of attending the @foodefbi Easter Food Drive in Iwollo Oghe, as a volunteer.

Please keep up to the last slide to understand more❤️

This year, the Enugu Food Bank Initiative team is returning to visit the widows and families we met, not just to deliver food packages, but to remind them that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

One thing I learned from the last outreach is that kindness goes beyond what we give. It is about the connections we build and the hope we leave behind.

As we prepare for another impactful food drive, I invite you to join us in making a difference.
Whether through donations, sharing this message or simply spreading awareness, your support can help put food on a table and a smile on someone's face.

Together, we can make hunger a little less heavy and hope a little more abundant.

At EFBI, we believe in not just meeting immediate needs, but in listening to the communities we serve. 🌾

During our Easter Food Drive in Iwollo Oghe, we spent time talking with the incredible widows in the community. What we heard shifted our perspective: these women are not waiting for handouts. Many of them are already hardworking farmers.

The real challenge? They lack the capital, quality seeds, and modern training needed to make their farms truly profitable.

That is why this month, we are returning to Iwollo Oghe to launch our Agricultural Smallholder Support Project. We are shifting from simply giving food to funding farms.

Your donations will go directly toward:
🌱 Purchasing high-yield seeds and fertilizers
📚 Providing expert agricultural training
💰 Distributing direct cash micro-grants

We have officially started receiving donations, and we are so grateful to our early supporters! We still have a long way to go to reach our goal for these women, and we need your help.

Starting in Iwollo Oghe, we will be empowering widow farmers through:

Sometimes the women feeding families are the ones going hungry.

This International Women’s Day, let’s change that.

Peep video highlights from the ‘365 Christmas/widows outreach. We are really not over this yet. #spreadjoy #impact #oystersinitiative by @foodefbi

When hunger speaks, we respond.

During our Annual Christmas Food Drive, @foodefbi in
partnership with @oystersinitiative , provided bags of rice to widows and persons with disabilities - families whose greatest Christmas prayer was simply to eat.

This is why EFBI exists.

To ensure that no one’s dignity is stripped by hunger.
And this is only the beginning of the year’s work.

We’re super grateful to all those who donated to make this reality.

When we asked people what they wanted for Christmas, many said gifts, money, clothing...

But for so many others especially widows the answer was simple: rice (food)

This Christmas, EFBI in collaboration with @oystersinitiative is reaching widows and vulnerable families with food items that can cushion hunger for their households during the season.

You can be the reason behind the smile on a family’s face and meals on their table.

Today, we honour the heroes who work quietly but impact loudly.
Our volunteers are more than helpers, they are hope-bringers, community builders, and the backbone of EFBI’s fight against hunger.
Your sacrifice fuels our mission, and your service changes lives.
We see you, we celebrate you. Happy World Volunteers Day! 🌟

Happy World Food Day 🌍💚

This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future,” reminds us that ending hunger begins with collective action.

Every shared meal, every food pack, every kind hand extended, brings us closer to a world where no one goes to bed hungry.

At Enugu Food Bank Initiative, we believe that together, we can build a future where food is not a privilege but a right.

Join us in feeding hope and building a better tomorrow.
