Page from my diary written on September 20, 2001. I was sixteen. I remember waiting a few days to write about 9/11 because it was all just too much and I had no idea what to say. New York was my home and it all felt weirdly personal. Looking back on this page now, 25 years later, the words seem devoid of all those emotions but the memories of those emotions are still so real. I used to tell my dad I was jealous of him for getting to live through the 60’s and witness so much history. He would respond by saying he’s glad I didn’t. I never understood what he meant. When I got home from school on September 11th he called me. The first thing he said was, “Well, here’s your history. I’m sorry.” #25YearsAgoToday #NewYorkILoveYou by @fooforevermore

Birthday Weekend!
1-3. Crazy milkshakes and ice cream sundaes at @blacktap with @stephiecoops, @mattmattforever, @jmalsua, @carlydshow, @jessacoeur, @_maureeeeen and @kylegunnels

4. Despite the loss, seeing Super Jack @jackgrealish back in Sky Blue where he belongs was a very nice surprise
5. An even better surprise was getting a Netherlands care package consisting of a Netherlands team kit with my original football love, @wesleysneijder and some treats and sweets all the way from Holland from my @newyorkskyblues family! 🩵⚽️
6. Then I passed the birthday torch to my favorite set of twins, @mattmattforever and @bulblight (and Skyler and Teagan who were too cute not to get in the picture). by @fooforevermore

To say this weekend was emotionally draining is an understatement. Even my phone knew to warn me what was to come! Not only did we have to say goodbye to our Manager @pepteam, we also bid farewell to two more Man City giants, @bernardocarvalhosilva and @johnstones5. Many tears were shed. Mostly my own.

We also bid adieu to two of our own, @iamlrsn and @notsamluloff. They may be leaving NYC but they’ll always be @newyorkskyblues!

On the opposite end of the emotional spectrum, I got to meet Jeremy! I’m so proud of @jessacoeur. She’s already such an amazing mom. And of course we made sure he was christened into the Sky Blue family.

About last night…..

1-2. Foo Fighters put on a “secret show” at Irving Plaza. By far the smallest venue I’ve ever had the chance to see them play. After striking out the first two times they played there, I FINALLY got a ticket! Special thanks to @schwarsm for the heads up.
3. Aurora. One of my (and Taylor’s) favorites. Bittersweet to see them play it without him behind the kit.
4-5. A320. A deep, deep cut only found on the Godzilla soundtrack of all things. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen them live (it’s in the 20’s) and this is the first time I’ve ever seen them play it.
6. I had zero intention of buying any merch. God knows I have plenty of Foo Fighters t-shirts, but I couldn’t resist getting one of the special ones made for this specific show.
