Our psychic bodies need tending too especially in times when the tool of domination is terror. Even more so, as we organize and build toward our dreams of liberation, we must interrogate our brokenheartedness and sadness with softness and sincerity, we deserve that. In our new world, we deserve to be unburdened by the hauntings of what is really white people’s evil doings. And we will!

Ep. 47: Living & Grieving 🩵

I implore you all to listen to this episode and join us in contemplating how to move with/ through grief as we grow. ( + you’re really paying attention, Jana drops some amazing hoodoo healing tips/practices along the way 😉) by @footonyoneck

This time last year Jana and I sent voice notes discussing our individual relationships to grief, where it lives in our bodies, and how we tend to it. We discuss our love and loss of two very special women in our lives who have passed.

During these times, when loss feels overhelming. I pray this episode inspires you to grant yourself grace in the cycles of grieving, to live deliberately, and to love on your peoples. The theme of water in this episode is so strong. I suggest you listen to this near a body of water or in the tub (like Jana!) And I ask you to join me in praying for cool rains to fall down here in Los Angeles, and everywhere burning under colonial siege, to quelch the flames and to be a balm for the brokenhearted who are dealing with unspeakable loss.

love y’all be well 🌊🖤

It’s brick outside and we’re all sleepy af at 2pm 😴winter is upon us! ❄️ Considering that it is the winter solstice, enjoy this clip from our latest episode. We discuss the generative forces of Darkness + Mother nature and the misconstructions of them that created “blackness” and chiefly anti-blackness and misogynoir.

I hope that inside the thick of the winter nights ahead you discover sweet, healing rest and build lush cocoons of warmth in your homes and communities.
go gentle 🫶🏿🖤✨

once we have transmuted our hatred of ourselves and those around use into compassion and self-forgiveness, we will see that it was all apart of a plot. This patriarchal-white-capitalist-anti black-imperial paradigm we live in is sneaky! We do not allow jealousy, insecurities, or anger to make us into a tool of our own destruction. We utilize jealousy, insecurities, and anger as information dispatched to orient us towards an ethic of love and care. We do our self-work honestly and we build community with ferocious joy at the root.

hating has no place here!
