On September 21st, you all came to a benefit show dedicated to our friend Samiha which raised money for suicide prevention. Together we donate $1500 for SeekHer Foundation, and we got to spend time singing and remembering Sam’s thoughtful soul. We are endlessly grateful.

I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about grief for Sam in a way that really describes the specific heaviness of it, but I know that I’ll always be able to talk about the brilliant streaks of light she left and will continue to leave when we delight in her memories. She is everywhere.

The picture of Sam at the top is at a dinner party I had back in March. She was the first to arrive and the last to leave. The other is at a show of ours at Elsewhere with Kim.

we love you all—take care of yourself and take care of your people.

Suprise!! We made a tab vault! For those of you that have been asking for it, we hope this finds you at a good time. Preston worked on making one for every song we have, so there isn’t a For Opal tune that could be left unsung.

If you’ve ever asked us to come to a city outside of NYC, the full live performance of Fatal Attraction at Music Hall of Williamsburg is the closest thing you can get to that at the moment, and it is now available on YouTube.

This show meant so much for us to play, it is now more cherished than ever. We hope you’re singing with us from your bedroom or your car or any place that allows maximum release.

Thank you for listening for the past year, what a continued privilege it has been to share this song with you.

Let it in,let it out. For Opal

HEAL IS OUT. WE HOPE IT MAKES YOU WANT TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS YOU LOVE THEM.

We started a band a few years ago, and now we wake up at 4AM to go to Chinatown and do video shoots with Tai Chi and racing. Friendship can take you beautiful places. The best places we go together are deliciously musical and deeply metaphorical and difficult to describe to others if you aren’t drinking the same tea, so to speak, but if you know you KNOW. We find flow — a rush I will never take for granted.

For pineapple pork buns, for writing with intention, for the language we make together, FOR OPAL -S
