It's been A WEEK! 🫠

Last week I was working away for 3 days, then came home and picked up Athena from nursery & then quickly realised she was coming down with hand, foot and mouth 😭

She's been really struggling with awful mouth ulcers, just in time for me to head back to work full time after 19 blissful months!

Feeding has been a struggle as suckling seems to make her mouth hurt & she's been quite unhappy about feeding which is breaking my heart!

Over the last week we've had 5 orders, which have now all been posted & I am SO grateful for the ongoing support.

Athena is on the up thankfully & I will be developing some more gorgeous designs and autumn offers over the coming weeks 🎉🤍

Tomorrow my baby starts nursery. 🥹🤍

And I'm feeling ALL the feelings.

I feel so incredibly lucky that I've had 18 months with Athena. 18 months of adventures, cuddles, breastfeeding, exploring, messy meals, little routines, big milestones and all the tiny moments in between.

We've filled those 18 months with so much fun, memories and SO much love!

Since going back to work part time in May, I've made an even more conscious effort to enjoy it all. To say yes to the adventures. To treasure the ordinary days. To notice the little things that I know I'll miss when they're no longer ours in quite the same way.

Tonight, after an early finish from work, I gave my girl a feed and she clung onto my feeding necklace with her little hand. 🥺

And honestly… I just wanted to freeze time.

Because I know tomorrow is the start of a huge new chapter for both of us.

In a couple of weeks I'll be starting full time, and we're going to have to find a whole new rhythm. There'll be more rushing, more juggling, more goodbyes and probably a fair few tears (mostly mine 😂!)

But there's something else I'm feeling incredibly grateful for.

You!

When I started For Athena, I never imagined it would open the door to such a gorgeous community of women.

Women who have been through this before. Women who have shared advice, reassurance, encouragement, stories, laughs and sometimes just a simple "I've been there too."

Somehow, this little business I started because I wanted to create something for my daughter has given me a whole world of support, love and friendship 🤍

And as I navigate this next chapter of motherhood, I feel so lucky to have you all alongside us ✨

So tomorrow I'll probably have a little cry when I leave her. And then I'll remind myself that this isn't the end of our time together....

It's just a new version of it.

And if these last 18 months have taught me anything, it's to treasure it all. 🤍

📣 We have news 📣

We've been quiet here recently which automatically means less orders(but we are very thankful for those that have been coming through!) but we have very good reason...

Mama got promoted 🎉💚

For those of you who have been here a while, you'll know I got made redundant when I was just 4 months PP, the day after I launched "For Athena".

For Athena kept me completely sane during the turbulence & gave me a real sense of focus (apart from managing a tiny human).

In May I took on a part-time role at a local hospice to secure Athena's nursery place and after a long interview process I have officially secured the Head of Fundraising role at this beautiful hospice - a role I have been working my whole career for! 💚✨

I am delighted. And the good news is, we aren't going anywhere (we might just be a little less present!)

So, if you know any mamas who need a feeding necklace, send them our way, because we just LOVE making mamas lives easier 🤍🥰
