Earlier this month I had the pleasure of touring the Bullocks Wilshire building, an Art Deco department store built in the 1920s. Only open once a year — I highly recommend seeing this historic treasure if you ever get the chance. Heavily influenced by Fortuny’s pleated creations, Mary McFadden developed the Marii pleating technique to find a fabric that mimics the lightness of silk but offers greater resilience. We have one of her pleated skirts in the shop, similar to a style as seen on the Fall 1978 runway. by @fordestudio

What makes this silver-plated tray special to me are the intricate rope handles. I found it in an antique store in Italy, buried beneath other objects and a layer of tarnish. Available #forde by @fordestudio
