The Illegal Mulligan! Every golfer has taken a tee shot they immediately wished didn’t count.

One bad swing turns into a “corrective tee shot,” then somehow the scorecard still says par.

If your foursome has a guy who thinks the first ball disappears from history the second he reloads… this one’s for him. 👀⛳

Stop guessing how much club to add when the wind picks up.

A simple rule of thumb:

🌬️ Into the wind: add about 1% of the shot distance for every 1 mph
⛳ 150 yards into a 10 mph wind ≈ 165 yards
🌬️ Downwind: use roughly half the adjustment

It’s a quick way to estimate how far your shot is actually playing without overthinking it.

Save this for your next windy round.

Starts with a short one… then suddenly he’s calling putts “good” from halfway across the green. 😂

Every golf group has that one guy who decides his own putts don’t actually need to go in.

At some point your buddy has to step in and say:
BRO… THAT IS NOT GOOD. 😂

Tag the guy whose gimme circle is basically the entire green. 👀⛳️

Behind a tree? There’s an excuse.
In the bunker? Another excuse.
Miss the putt? “That’s good.” 😂

Every golf group has that one guy who somehow never gets a bad lie and never takes the penalty. 👀

Can you tee off with one golf ball and switch to another before finishing the hole? 🤔

Under USGA Rule 6.3b, you normally play the same ball for the entire hole—but there are important exceptions. You can substitute another ball when taking relief, including free or penalty relief, or when replaying from the previous spot. But you generally can’t just swap balls because you want a different one, and if you mark and lift your ball on the green, you normally must replace that same ball.

Make an illegal substitution and then hit it? That’s the general penalty—two strokes in stroke play or loss of hole in match play.

Not sure how much uphill or downhill changes your shot?

Use this quick golf shortcut to estimate elevation adjustments and choose the right club faster.

A simple rule of thumb: about every 3 feet of elevation change equals roughly 1 yard of playing distance.

Easy to remember. Useful on the course. Perfect for weekend golfers trying to stop guessing.

Mary, Queen of Scots… playing golf at Seton Palace in 1567?! 👀

Historical accounts claim she played golf on the grounds of Seton Palace shortly after the death of Lord Darnley — a story that helped make her one of golf history’s most famous early female players.

But here’s the crazy part: historians still debate whether it actually happened.

Golf history is way stranger than you think.

Slow golf drives EVERYONE crazy. ⛳😤

If you’re ready to hit and it’s safe to play — PLAY. That’s Ready Golf.

You don’t always need to stand around waiting while someone else takes forever to get ready. In stroke play, the USGA encourages golfers to play out of turn **safely and responsibly** when it helps improve pace of play.

✅ Be ready when it’s your turn
✅ Get your yardage early
✅ Choose your club before the fairway clears
✅ Play Ready Golf when appropriate
✅ Keep the group moving

Nobody wants a 5-hour round.

Golf legend Lee Trevino had one of the funniest lines ever about playing in a thunderstorm:

If you’re ever caught on a golf course in lightning, hold up a 1-iron… because, as the joke goes, “not even God can hit a 1-iron.” 😂⚡

It’s classic old-school golf humor — and exactly the kind of line weekend golfers still repeat today.

Every weekend golfer has had this happen: you stripe one down the fairway… and your ball finishes right in somebody else’s divot. 😭⛳

Unfortunately, under the Rules of Golf, a normal divot hole is not automatically free relief. In most cases, you have to play the ball as it lies. Free relief would only apply if the area qualifies as an abnormal course condition, such as ground under repair that has been marked or defined by the Committee.

So yes — you can hit the fairway perfectly and still get punished by somebody else’s turf missile. 😂
