✨📖 THE FARAWAY INN by Sarah Beth Durst ✨

There’s something so wonderfully strange & enchanting about The Faraway Inn.🕯️🌙

This book feels like stepping through a door into a place that shouldn’t exist but somehow feels like it’s been waiting for you all along. The atmosphere is absolutely one of my favorite things about this story. It’s mysterious, eerie, whimsical, & just a little unsettling in the best possible way.

I loved the feeling of the inn itself & the sense that there was always something hiding just beneath the surface. The story has that perfect blend of fantasy, mystery, danger, & heart, with characters who made me genuinely want to know what would happen to them.

Sarah Beth Durst does such a beautiful job creating a world that feels both magical & haunting. ✨ There’s a dreamlike quality to the story that completely pulled me in, while the mystery kept me turning the pages because I needed to know what was really going on.

If you love atmospheric fantasy, mysterious places, hidden secrets, unusual magic, & stories that feel like wandering into a beautiful dream with something lurking in the shadows… add this one to your TBR.
A strange little inn, a whole lot of secrets, & the kind of magic that makes you want to stay awhile… even if you probably shouldn’t. 🗝️✨

Okay where to begin 😆...let's jump right in...

(🎮📚 Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman🐈💥)

Okay, imagine waking up one day to discover that the entire world has basically been deleted, humanity is being turned into entertainment for an intergalactic audience, & your best chance of survival is teaming up with a judgmental talking cat. Yeah lol somehow, that is only the beginning. 😂 Dungeon Crawler Carl is one of those books where you start reading thinking, “This sounds completely ridiculous.” In the best way & then 50 pages later you're completely invested though & wondering why you aren't personally preparing for the apocalypse. (unless you are 😉)

The concept is basically a video game dungeon crawl turned into a survival reality show. Earth is destroyed, & the remaining humans are thrown into an enormous dungeon filled with monsters, traps, quests, loot, skill trees, ridiculous NPCs, & increasingly unhinged challenges. The survivors have to level up & fight their way through each floor while an alien audience watches them for entertainment.
If you're a gamer… oh, you're going to GET this. 😂 which was perfect for me because I am & always have been. It feels like someone took an RPG, a roguelike, a survival game, & a reality TV show, threw them into a blender, then handed the controls to a narrator who has absolutely no intention of letting you emotionally recover. In my mind I picture Carl as Jack Black.
You get the familiar gaming experiences to.

🎮 Loot that you desperately want
🎮 Stats and leveling
🎮 Quests that sound simple until everything goes horribly wrong
🎮 NPCs who are suspiciously unhelpful
🎮 Boss fights
🎮 Ridiculous abilities
🎮 That eternal gamer instinct of, I can probably survive this.

The book adds Carl's completely exhausted determination & Donut, an outrageously fabulous cat who may have more personality than most of the human population. What makes this story so special is that underneath all the absurdity, there's actually a surprisingly compelling survival story. Carl isn't just grinding levels. He's trying to survive a world that treats human lives like a form of entertainment, while slowly figuring it all out.

Hello 👋

Iv been camping with no signal & its been the perfect time to curl up with books at night & catch up on some TBR starting with a thriller 👀 so let's go!

⛺️🌲 How to Survive Camping by Bonnie Quinn 🌲⛺️Okay, this book had me looking at camping in a whole different way! 😂 If you like your horror with a little mystery, creepy folklore, strange rules, & that maybe I should NOT be out here after dark feeling, this one is such a fun read. What I loved most is the atmosphere. The campground feels like its own little world with its own unsettling rules, & the deeper you get into it, the more you want to know what the heck is really going on. The story has that perfect blend of creepy & intriguing where you’re simultaneously curious & thinking, Girl, maybe just go home! ( but im not a chicken so no )😂

Bonnie Quinn does a great job making the ordinary parts of camping feel likw eerie woods, campfires, trails, campers & then adding just enough supernatural weirdness to make you question what’s lurking around the next corner.

It has the Creepy campground vibes you need for answers thriller mixed with mysterious rules, strange things happening in the woods going on. Let's not forget Lots of what is going on in general moments.
Its Definitely a fun choice if you enjoy atmospheric horror, supernatural mysteries, & stories that make you suspicious of the woods, if your a chicken 🤣

Im coming in with my snail mail sub from @worldofmossheart iv been eagerly waiting this one & she's finally here! Eeek! How exciting! This little story was so charming & pretty thick, its literally a little booklet. Her art is what originally captured my attention, i find it adorable & endearing.

I received this recently they are so beautiful 😍
These are the limited run of Evergreen Academy, Evergreen Conservatory, & Evergreen Legacy by Heather Schneider & digitally signed.
The Magical Botanists Special Edition Trilogy Hardcovers are insanely beautiful.

The series centers on a secret college for magical botanists, where plants, nature, mysterious powers & friendship.These are especially cool because they combine cozy fantasy, botanical magic, academia, & gorgeous collectible book aesthetics. Having the trilogy digitally signed by Heather makes the set feel even more personal.

🌿 What makes the trilogy so special outside of the above is that the concept is wonderfully unusual. Instead of a typical magic school, Evergreen Academy is specifically a secret college for Magical Botanists, with plant affinity powers & nature based magic. The aesthetic is incredibly cohesive. The books lean heavily into forestcore & green academia, with botanical imagery, gardens, flowers, butterflies, & magical conservatory vibes.

There's a cozy sense of escapism.You get magical gardens, festivals, mysterious plants, secret societies, friendship, & a hidden academy tucked away from the ordinary world. The trilogy actually feels like a complete collection. Evergreen Academy begins the story, Evergreen Conservatory expands the magical world and its mysteries, & Evergreen Legacy brings the trilogy to its conclusion.

Hello 👋

Today im coming in with the art & making of Hogwarts Legacy! Very few of you will know me from the gaming community, & this will be no suprise to those few. I collect gaming art books, guides, cookbooks & anything more you can think of basically 🤣 . In my collection I feel this one is one of the most beautiful ones. Im also leaning into the fall vibe which for me brings me back to Legacy everytime.

Hogwarts Legacy was the game I dreamed of as a little kid, allowing you to explore & roam the halls in Hogwarts, even attend some classes. Hogwarts itself is a masterpiece, its absolutely beautiful inside & out.
The attention to detail in that game is outstanding.
Flying around on your broom & getting to explore further felt as magical as the game its self. Its giving everything i could of ever wanted & dreamed of for the Hogwarts universe. Sometimes I take my character & plant her just in the rooms around the castle & leave it on my screen for the view & ambuiance. I find Hogwarts Legacy to be incredibly comforting to my soul.

This book is massive, giving us 251 pages of absolutely stunning artwork, much to read & learn about as well. What i show you is only a small hint of what is brewing inside of it. Even if gaming is not your cup of tea but you enjoy the world of Harry Potter you might want to consider this.

Hello, my Birthday is coming up soon, not yet.. but soon & I treated myself to something I have wanted for a few years now! Instead of keep looking at it & thinking one day.. I finally got it & it showed up yesterday!

I deeply wanted this for my collection, I never grew out of my Dinosaur love, its only expanded. As a little girl I grew up with The land before time & of course the iconic Jurassic park. I day dreamed of digging up Dinosaur bones & what it would be like if they were still around. I cant believe it, i finally have this book. @foliosociety has the most gorgeous books.

🦄✨ Behooved by M. Stevenson ✨🦄

Some books feel like they were written with a little bit of moonlight, a handful of wildflowers, & just enough magic to make you believe in impossible things again. Behooved is one of those books. 🦄💙

This whimsical romantasy follows Bianca, a noblewoman who agrees to an arranged marriage in hopes of preventing war only for her new husband, Prince Aric, to be magically transformed into a horse. What follows is a wonderfully strange adventure filled with curses, political intrigue, reluctant companionship, & a romance that takes its sweet time finding its footing. Honestly, the horse husband premise should not work this well. 😂

There is something so charming about Bianca & Aric learning to see beyond the roles they've been forced into. Beneath the humor & fairytale absurdity is a surprisingly heartfelt story about duty, worth, vulnerability, & discovering that being useful isn't the same thing as being valuable. Bianca's chronic illness is also woven meaningfully into her character & her journey rather than simply being treated as something that defines her limitations. I loved the cozy fairytale feeling of it all, the kind of story that makes you want to curl up somewhere surrounded by flowers, light a candle & disappear into a little enchanted kingdom for the afternoon. 🌙🕯️🌿
Its giving whimsical, tender, funny, & completely unexpected. Behooved feels like a fairytale that wandered off the storybook page, put on a pair of boots, & decided to go galloping into an adventure.

🩸A Masterpiece in Blood 🩸

Some stories are simply read, others consume you whole. A Masterpiece in Blood is a dark & intoxicating descent into a world of magic, blood, secrets, & dangerous truths. As the story continues to unravel, the darkness deepens & the lines between what is beautiful & what is monstrous begin to blur.
There is something almost hypnotic about Megan Scott’s writing. The way she weaves mystery & emotion together, pulling you further into a world where secrets have teeth & every truth seems to come at a cost.

This book feels like wandering through a candlelit gallery long after midnight, surrounded by beautiful things hiding terrible secrets. It is haunting, seductive, & drenched in an atmosphere that clings to you long after you close the book.

Beneath all of the darkness is something deeply emotional, a story about the choices we make, the things we are willing to sacrifice, & the parts of ourselves we may have to lose in order to survive.
A Masterpiece in Blood is beautifully sinister. A story painted in shadows & stained in blood. Some books stay on your shelves. Others linger beneath your skin.
But this one? This one left its mark. A Masterpiece in Blood by Megan Scott is the second book in the Empyreal trilogy & continues Nicole & Kyan’s story.

Hello 👋

Im here today with something that caught my eye, it felt like for a moment you could bottle up some whimsy & capture it. I found this corner of magic called the @thefablefilesmailclub & so I contacted her.. right away she was lovely to speak to, her art is absolutely gorgeous & iv always been drawn to all things lore & whimsical. Here is a little peak of my snail mail.

She had said " we live in a fast paced world where everything becomes so immediate. To the point I think sometimes is really easy to overlook stuff, to forget who you once were, to forget what really makes you feel something. With this mail club this is something i intend to stop. I want to you to reconnect with yourself, get a minute from your day and get immersed into a fantasy world of your own. To feel a bit more, to dream a bit more and for you to have something a little less digital and a bit more real to look forward every month" those were her words & some of the intention she gave us for her mailclub.

I really love to support artists, in a world where authenticity is being stripped away, handmade, homegrown, & talent are struggling to take a centerfold. I try my best to contribute to the art forms when possible. These are the dreamers, these are the visionaries & the world simply would be dull without them. As I opened my mail in my garden, admired the story, the art, i found the beauty in the small details & intent. If this appeals to you please check her out. Im forestboundbooks, I created my page not very long ago. Why I’d LOVE to be a Reading Portal Rep?
I would be absolutely thrilled to have the chance to represent Reading Portal! Being surrounded by books has always felt like home to me, & getting to share that love with others would mean so much. ❤️

I’m a newer, smaller Bookstagram account, & I know there are so many amazing creators out there but I’d love for Reading Portal to take a chance on an underdog. 🥹✨ I may not have the biggest following but I bring so much genuine excitement, intention, personality & love into everything I share. I’m here because I truly LOVE books, not just because I love taking pretty pictures of them.

I’m especially inspired by the beauty of books & nature. 🌿📖 combined. I love finding those little everyday moments that feel magical. A book tucked into a cozy corner, sunlight through the trees, flowers beside a favorite read, or simply taking a moment to slow down & appreciate what’s around me. Being intentional with my time & what I spend it on. Honestly, I prefer to work in nature whenever I can.

🌲🍃 There’s something so special about combining books with the outdoors & creating content that feels natural, peaceful, whimsical, & authentic. I’d love to bring that feeling to Reading Portal & create beautiful content that makes people want to pick up a book & escape into its pages.

Being chosen would mean more than simply getting the title of “rep.” It would be an opportunity to grow, create, connect with other readers, & show what a small account with a BIG love for books can do. 💕📚
