Witches’ butter! 🧙‍♀️

• One of my fav things to find and poke; they’re very rubbery and slimy. Witches’s butter is the common name for many types (and colors) of jelly fungus. In European folklore this would grow on the doors of those a witch had cursed, and the only way to remove the curse was to piece the fungus with a pin and drain it of fluid🧪 by @forestforagerr

Fluted birds-nest mushrooms🪺 The little eggs are spore-filled sacs and they rely on raindrops to splash them out for dispersal by @forestforagerr

Ghost pipe flowers!! Chlorophyll-less flowers that bloom above ground for one week out of the year. They were once thought to be parasitic but are now known to have a symbiotic relationship with the tree roots and mychorrizal network. Gorgeous! by @forestforagerr
