Great news people !! We discovered the most perfect picnic spot !! We went on a little trip to Pages Wood, a @forestryengland 74 hectare wood in Essex filled with wildlife. It’s home to 100,000 trees (lots of Oak), meadows of wildflowers and lots of little yellow spiders.Touched a lot of grass, ate an unreasonable amount of melon, and made a strong case for picnics in the woods. Happy #WildlifeWednesday 🦎Have you ever heard of inter-row mowing?It's a method that helps to control grasses and woody vegetation, preventing them from smothering young trees whilst leaving enough cover to protect trees from summer sun ☀️ Luckily for this common lizard, it also leaves an open structure that improves basking habitats for reptiles living in the woodland! by @forestryengland
