POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

No signal to chase. No schedule to keep. No background hum of modern life.

Just the sound of wind in the trees, coffee warming on the stove, pages turning, fire crackling, and time doing that rare thing—slowing down.

Sound good? We thought so too.

In “The Last of the Analog Spaces,” writer and cabin owner @bycarolinefrances invites us into @foresttofield, a tiny off-grid cabin built for quiet, simplicity, and the kind of rest that can’t be downloaded.

How to light a fire, outdoor edition! Featuring Dave 🔥

We love that you love to have a fire when you visit, so here’s a little video to make it easier!

Outdoor fire making tips:

🔥 dry firewood burns best
🔥 starting with a clean fire pit helps!
🔥 patience, my love
🔥 start with paper, then small wood and work up!

Here at the cabin we have a managed forest, so we provide the appropriate wood to all of our guests so they don’t have to forage and so the forest stays happy!🌲

🔥 start with a clean firebox and dry wood
🔥 be patient
🔥 learn the drafts
🔥 don’t overload (or underload)
🔥 listen for the crackles and pops
🔥 enjoy!

Stay tuned for Dave coming in hot with our fire making reel: outdoor edition!

Recently, another couple got engaged at the cabin. 😍

We’re forever humbled when you chose to spend these moments with us, here in the forest.

A slow morning here look like this…

Coffee before words,
Windows to the trees,
Nowhere to be.
