The last wine of our latest @foretwine lineup is the 2022 Syrah.

Sourced entirely from @threemilevineyard in The Dalles, Oregon overlooking the glorious Columbia River, this Syrah comes from a block situated 1300-1500 ft elevation in one of the steepest blocks of the vineyard. The wine opens with a bouquet of flowers and dark fruits before evolving with the black pepper notes we have to come to love with this Varietal. This wine is best served with red meat dishes in the summer, or slowly braised winter dishes and pastas.

The 2023 @foretwine Gamay Noir

Sourced from two new vineyard sites for us to work with in the Willamette Valley, we used carbonic fermentation with minimal pumpovers to keep this wine, light, bright and crunchy, and picked early enough to keep at 12.7% alcohol. An ode to the great wines of Beuajolais, this wine is great popping and pouring, but opens up beautifully with several hours of air, a good sign for the ageability of this bottling. We love the idea of bringing this wine to your summer cookouts, throwing in the @yeti to get a slight chill, and serving with all varieties of grilled meats and summer salads.

The 2023 @foretwine Vin Blanc is a blend of four varietals from both the Oregon and Washington sides of the Columbia River. The blend is 30% Albariño, 29% Sauvignon Blanc, 27% Chardonnay and 14% Clairette. The first grapes were harvested on August 29 with the Albariño from @threemilevineyard in The Dalles, OR, and concluded a few weeks later with the arrival of Chardonnay that we sourced from a high elevation site in Underwood, WA. The varietals were separately aged in neutral French oak or stainless steel, and blended just before bottling.

The wine is marked by tension, minerality and elevated aromatics, with the cool-climate Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc providing the acidity, linear backbone and characteristic varietal markers, while the Albariño brings a high-tone tropical perfume and salinity, and the Clairette rounding out the blend. This is a versatile white wine, able to pair with grilled chicken and fish dishes, but with enough acidity to stand up to richer, heavy-sauced dishes as well.

2022 Lineup.

Vin de Soif - A light, crushable, natty-style blend of Syrah, Grenache and Rousanne. We recommend serving this quaffable wine chilled and served like a white wine. 324 cases

Vin Blanc - A blend of Marsanne, Clairette and Roussanne. An ode to classic Rhône white wines with stone fruit and beeswax shoulders and a clear linear acidic backbone. 363 cases

Albariño - Inspired by the delicious wines of northwestern Spain, this lifted aromatic white wine has some tropical and stone fruit notes and is perfect pairing for grilled shrimp and all kinds of tacos. 150 cases

Syrah - The Syrah block we sourced from at Threemile Vineyard sits at the very top of the site, on a steep hillside overlooking the intimidating Columbia River Gorge, and we couldn’t help but feel like we were along the banks of the Rhône river when we stood there. This wine evokes classic black pepper notes, with lifted aromatics from the partial whole cluster fermentation. 311 cases.

Grenache - Picked on the earlier side in late September, this wine harkens back to lighter Rhône-style Grenache and follows up on our inaugural 2021 which was released to great reviews. 151 cases taken in Columbia River Gorge by @foretwine
