It's exciting, guys! Race Day weekend is here. I am doing the Lawless 60-mile cross-country mountain bike race on Sunday. It starts at 8:00 a.m. If you're interested, it's a last-minute choice, and definitely a good one with around 4,500 ft of climbing, all off-road, mixed with farm tracks. There's plenty of room for passing and some good old-school single track. Here are a few pics from last year when it was wet, muddy, and a little sketchy at times. I wrecked once on a fast, slick, rolling hill, and it took me a minute to get my bearings back, but I still managed to pull off the win after digging deep and finding the extra energy in the end to pull it off!

I had mountain bike races on back-to-back weekends. Let's start with Sweatshaker in Harrison, MI. I signed up for this race in the Men's Open Elite. To my surprise, when I lined up, there were supposed to be four of us, but I was the only one lol. It was the first time ever I lined up, and I had already won the race lol. Regardless, it made for a fun, slick, and challenging day! The past weekend was a more interesting story. I didn't know until I texted my buddy Mark Walters on Saturday, the day before the race, who said, 'Yeah, man, we're racing at Addison Oaks.' I said, 'No way, I love that place, but I just did 70 miles endurance today.' Mark said, 'That's just the warm-up.' I replied, 'Maybe for you, man, you're a nut lol.' I didn't know how much legs I'd have, but I did it and signed up in the 40+ Elite. In the first lap, Armando Vega, he's like the goat who never slows down, led us out in the first lap. Even going into the second, all of a sudden, he started to slow down, and Ryan Matthews attacked on a climb, and we had to go with him. After that, I looked back, and Armando was nowhere to be seen; he had a mechanical DNF. Going into the third lap, we had about six or seven guys in our lead group after starting with 14, but after the legend Greg Kuhn's attack, there were only three: Chris Otsberg, Greg Kuhn, and I. Then on the fourth and final lap, I led the entire lap. However, when we got to a couple of miles left, I started to push harder, and Chris and I started to get a little bit of separation on Greg, just enough until the finish. Chris out-sprinted me at the end and got the win. It was a great day of racing, seeing some old friends, and observing all the people participating in this awesome event. Sweat Shaker Mountain Bike Race 1st Place Expert AG 40-54

It was definitely a sweaty sweat shaker lol happy about this one I led the race from start to finish and I am starting to gain confidence on my full suspension bike and in the past this course has always wrecked my back I didn't have nothing for later in the race and with the Full Suspension it made a world of difference!

Iceman Cometh 1st Place AG

The world's biggest one day XC mountain bike race with over 5000 riders lived up to it's name once again with 30 miles in northern Michigan from the airport in Kalkaska to Timberidge RV and Camp Resort in Traverse City.
The morning of the race it created some drama with 1 to 2 inches of rain overnight with potential for more during the race made a lot of racers drop out. With how big this race is I was ready to do it regardless of the bad weather but not looking forward to racing in it but I was surprised it was not as bad and ended up having my best Iceman ever and overall finish! Here is a nice picture of me up front in the 1st Snow Angel Fat Bike Race this past Saturday in the Canadian Lakes area of Michigan. What was great about this race is that it had over 2700ft of climbing and the money went towards a non-profit organization called Angel's in Action which was a good cause.
