PREECLAMPSIA IS MORE THAN A BLOOD PRESSURE PROBLEM - ITS AN ENERGY PROBLEM.

Mainstream medical professionals are overlooking the most important factor in pregnancy health — the mother’s ability to produce and use ENERGY.

Pregnancy is an extraordinarily demanding metabolic state. In fact, the demand for both thyroid hormone and energy are greatly increased by pregnancy. For example, the placenta alone requires enormous amounts of cellular energy to develop, regulate blood flow, transport nutrients, and support a growing baby.

And what regulates much of that energy production? THYROID HORMONE.

Research has linked maternal hypothyroidism with an increased risk of preeclampsia, which is a serious pregnancy complication involving placental dysfunction, vascular injury, and high blood pressure.

The craziest part, the thyroid isn’t given much attention when regarding fertility…

Thyroid hormone supports mitochondrial respiration, ATP production, and vascular function. It also dictates liver function, which controls glucose availability, albumin, and hormone production for maternal adaptation.

Thyroid controls progesterone utility, which maintains pregnancy at large.

Keeping thyroid function strong is the main thing when it comes to preventing preeclampsia. The thyroid thrives in an environment of safety, nourishment, warmth and happiness. A nourished mother on all fronts = healthy thyroid function = healthy pregnancy.

Preeclampsia is just another symptom of stress, just manifesting in pregnancy. Its symptoms are emergency signals.

The solution? Change your operating basis.

Pregnancies massive energy demands often reveals one’s true condition, which for many women, is often floating between danger and emergency - just eating enough, hardly sleeping enough, exercising or working too much…pregnancy hits and that “just getting by” suddenly isn’t enough.

So, when symptoms show up in pregnancy, it’s time to change the operating basis that lead you into an emergency.

HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARUM: WHAT ABOUT DAD?

Groundbreaking research has identified the placenta-derived hormone GDF15 as a major driver of severe pregnancy sickness.

The father contributes far more than just half the baby’s DNA.

Emerging research shows that paternal metabolic health, sperm quality, and epigenetic programming can influence placental development, gene expression, and nutrient metabolism. And since the placenta is the major source of GDF15, the father’s health before conception may be the other main influence regarding the expression of HG.

The research on ashwagandha is particularly exciting, with clinical studies reporting substantial improvements in sperm concentration, motility, testosterone, and other reproductive markers such as the quality of sperm DNA, epigenetics expression and oxidative stress quality.

Our favorites for supporting male reproductive health? KSM-66, Thyro+, and Shilajit, alongside the foundational bioenergetic principles we promote like adequate calories, carbohydrates, plenty of sunlight, sleep, and a metabolically supportive environment and lifestyle.

Healthy pregnancies begin long before conception. And Dad’s physiology matters, too. by @foreverhealthyllc

Blocking DHT for hair loss is a controversial topic but what if you could inhibit its potentionally scalp/hair follicle irritating effects without having to directly suppress it. This is what progesterone can do.

You see, there is a HUGE lie, and simple truth about DHT and hair loss. When it was first blamed for hair loss, what researchers failed to see, or say, is that it wasn’t the culprit, it was just at the scene of the crime.

DHT can raise adaptively to protect the body from the toxic effects of estrogen, prolactin and other stress hormones.

This is why we see high DHT and androgens in other diseases of high estrogen and prolactin, like PCOS. DHT is probably the single most protective steroid we make, it’s here to help.

This is where progesterone comes in — it can help manage excessive scalp DHT by addressing the real issue (elevated prolactin and estrogen), without systematically suppressing DHT.

Progesterone may support hair growth by:

•lower localized scalp DHT by opposing scalp accumulation of estrogen and prolactin
•out compete excess DHT, estrogen and prolactin at receptor sites at the follicle
•balancing local estrogen signaling
•influencing prolactin-related pathways
•supporting a more favorable anagen (growth) phase
•shorten telogen phase (dormancy)

And when applied topically to the scalp, the goal is localized hormonal support rather than aggressively suppressing DHT systemically.

What if hyperemesis and severe morning sickness are not what you’ve been told?

Pregnancy increases the demand for thiamine (B1) — the vitamin required to turn glucose into cellular energy. Add weeks of nausea, vomiting, and reduced food intake, and B1 stores can become depleted surprisingly quickly.

In one study, over 60% of women hospitalized with hyperemesis gravidarum had suboptimal thiamine status. And there’s a vicious cycle that can be difficult to break free from: B1 deficiency itself can contribute to nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, elevated lactate, and and worsened glucose oxidation.

Thiamine deficiency leads to energy deficiency that leads to high stress hormone adaption, which leads to nausea (especially in the morning), vomiting and further B1 depletion that exacerbates energy issues , leading to potentially more nausea and vomiting.

This physiology is why there are actual guidelines specifically emphasize thiamine replacement during prolonged vomiting, especially before IV glucose. But most aren’t lucky enough to learn this before $hit hits the fan.

This is why we think B1 deserves WAY more attention, especially in pregnancy and why we made GLUCO+ by @foreverhealthyllc

INSULIN RESISTANCE INCREASES YOUR NEED FOR B1.

One of the most overlooked consequences of poor glucose metabolism is what happens to thiamine (vitamin B1). Research found people with Type 2 diabetes had roughly 75% lower plasma thiamine alongside an astonishing 16× increase in renal thiamine clearance.

And that matters because B1 is essential for actually oxidizing glucose for energy. We usually suggest it to people looking to “sugarmaxx” but it’s even more essentially if you have a legit sugar handling issue.

Thiamine-dependent enzymes help move glucose-derived pyruvate into mitochondrial metabolism. When B1 availability becomes inadequate, efficient glucose oxidation can become increasingly difficult.

It can become a vicious cycle:

Poor glucose metabolism → increased B1 loss → less support for glucose oxidation → greater metabolic stress.

And this is where benfotiamine gets particularly beneficial...

Unlike conventional oral thiamine, benfotiamine is a highly bioavailable B1 precursor that can substantially increase thiamine availability inside tissues.

Research has investigated benfotiamine for its ability to activate transketolase, redirect excess glucose metabolites away from pathways involved in AGEs, oxidative stress and diabetic tissue damage.

It has even been studied in diabetic neuropathy, with clinical trials reporting improvements in neuropathy symptoms.

This is why we didn’t think about making a “blood sugar lowering” supplement. We care about how to help the cell actually USE glucose efficiently.

B1 is one piece of that metabolic machinery.

And it’s why Gluco+ uses benfotiamine alongside CoQ10, taurine, pantothenic acid and organic Ceylon cinnamon—nutrients selected to support glucose and mitochondrial metabolism from multiple angles.

Don’t just lower glucose. Support the machinery that metabolizes it. by @foreverhealthyllc

Glycine is very likely the single most beneficial “pro-metabolic nutrient”.

1–3 grams daily; preferably before bed, can produce profound health benefits that are actually felt and seen. This isn’t hype marketing either; there is legitimate research and physiology behind it.

For people who are familiar with glycine, it is often considered for its sleep benefits, but few people know its extensive benefits; from efficient cellular energy production, to liver protection, anti-aging and more.

From a bioenergetic perspective, glycine is involved in the fundamentals we talk about daily:

Hormone balance
Mitochondrial function
Gut & intestinal integrity (endotoxin)
Glucose handling
Lowering stress hormones
Rejuvenating sleep

And like the other supplements we favor; glycine is simple, non exotic, safe and well tolerated. It’s a basic nutrient your physiology already knows exactly what to do with.

They took out one of the most important nutrients in your electrolytes claiming it’s toxic, then sold you on replacements riddled with hidden allergenic excipients…

Funny enough, one of the most famous anti-sugar slogans is that it is “empty nutrition”. Yet, stevia and monk fruit extracts are quite literally powdered “sweetness” absent of any nutritional or energetic value. An attack on sugar is an attack on biological energy itself.

But this isn’t a post on sugar’s direct energy value and purpose, but it’s hydration value. That’s right - sugar plays a big role in your cells ability to utilize and maintain minerals/electrolytes.

Sugar contains 50% Glucose and 50% fructose. When efficiently oxidized glucose becomes pyruvate, then acetyl-CoA and lastly ATP ⚡

That ATP powers the cellular pumps responsible for maintaining sodium, potassium, calcium + magnesium gradients.

Taking minerals without energy is counter productive. Minerals are the raw materials but ATP is the energy that puts them to work cellularly.

That’s why REPLENISH INTENTIONALLY combines electrolytes with organic cane sugar, to support energy and hydration. 🍓🍋 by @foreverhealthyllc

Have you been told that your thyroid labs are “normal” but you suffer from every symptom in the book? There are several reasons for this (incomplete labs, stress sensitive hormones, non-optimal reference ranges, etc etc), but this post will cover the causative factors your doctor probably will never look at.

After speaking with hundreds of people struggling with thyroid symptoms, we see the same patterns over and over:

Inflammation.
Poor liver & bile function.
Gut dysfunction & endotoxin.
Chronic stress & under-fueling.

Simply checking TSH and T4 assumes the thyroid somehow functions independently but it doesn’t. Producing thyroid hormone is only part of the equation — your body still has to; secrete it, convert it, activate it, transport it, and actually uptake and use it in your cells and tissues.

Standard thyroid labs don’t address these things. But the pathologies in this post do, and will help you better understand what might actually be going wrong for you.

If you like this sort of data and want to go deeper; our Perfect Thyroid Course, which started this business today, walks through the complete Forever Healthy approach to rebuilding thyroid function & metabolism.

You can find it on the course’s tab on our website. Link in the bio. by @foreverhealthyllc

Whenever a problem persists, there is at least one lie in it (or something not being looked at, talked about). With insulin resistance, diabetes etc, we see the same story, “sugar is bad”, “too much sugar” “sugar is the problem) etc, but a half true is still a whole lie.

The whole story reveals something rarely discussed around these issues, and that is, “can your body actually oxidize sugar? And if not, what went wrong?

Insulin resistance is not a problem of simply “too much sugar.” It largely is a problem of glucose not being able to get into the cell (blocked by stress hormones, PUFA and free fatty acids), and the mitochondria failing to utilize glucose once it enters the cell.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) sits at one of the most important metabolic crossroads in the body. Its active form is required by pyruvate dehydrogenase — the enzyme complex that helps convert pyruvate into acetyl-CoA so carbohydrate can enter mitochondrial oxidative metabolism.

Without adequate thiamine availability, glucose metabolism can become bottlenecked:

Glucose → Pyruvate → impaired oxidation ❌

Instead of efficiently producing ATP + CO2, metabolism can shift toward greater lactate production and less-efficient energy metabolism.

Lowering your sugar intake doesn’t correct the underlying derangement; it even keeps you from seeing the true cause, and therefore, actually getting healthier.

So, how do we restore the cell’s ability to efficiently USE glucose?

Benfotiamine is a simple place to start. It is a highly bioavailabile form of b1 and supports the fundamental process of turning sugar > energy.

Note* B1 doesn’t work in isolation. Strong glucose oxidation depends also on good thyroid function, magnesium, B vitamins, adequate nutrition, healthy mitochondrial function and low chronic stress.

These things will help you actually get better (warmer body🔥 better energy⚡️more relaxed)

If you just aim to lower blood glucose and not not improve glucose oxidation, these are the things you might miss out on.

Lower blood sugar ≠ better glucose metabolism.

A lower number on a glucose monitor can look like success but the real question is “What is your body actually doing with glucose?”

Healthy glucose metabolism isn’t simply about getting glucose “out of the bloodstream”, it’s about getting it into your cells to efficiently oxidizer inside the mitochondria to produce ATP, CO2 and water.

This distinction matters when we talk about drugs like metformin. Metformin can lower blood glucose through several mechanisms, particularly by suppressing hepatic glucose production and improving
insulin sensitivity. But metformin also interacts with mitochondrial metabolism, mainly by inhibition of mitochondrial Complex I under certain conditions.

So simply pointing to lower blood glucose doesn’t tell you whether you’ve optimized the body’s underlying capacity to produce energy from glucose.

This is like trying to fix a poorly running engine by restricting the amount of fuel reaching it - it doesn’t fix the engine.

Overly simplified ideas about blood sugar leads to people trying to obsessively achieve lower blood sugar, which ironically worsens stress. The right goal should be to have a metabolically healthy body that can take glucose/sugar from your diet and get it into the cell to make ENERGY!

If you want to get your body better at burning sugar, here are some simple tips… by @foreverhealthyllc

Still struggling with low ferritin despite increasing iron intake?

The problem often isn’t how much iron you’re getting - it’s more often whether your body has the energy and nutrients to absorb it, transport it, store it, and actually use it.

From a bioenergetic perspective, ferritin is influenced by much more than iron alone:

Thyroid function
Copper
Vitamin A (retinol)
Vitamin E
Protein & carbohydrates
Healthy digestion & stomach acid
Liver & bile function
Low gut inflammation & endotoxin

If those foundations are missing, simply taking more iron may not produce the results you’re hoping for.

Before reaching for another iron supplement, ask yourself:

“Have I created the metabolic environment for ferritin to improve?”

Your thyroid influences iron digestion and cellular utilization.
Your gut influences absorption.
Copper move iron.
Vitamin A and vitamin E help support healthy iron metabolism.
Inflammation can increase hepcidin and serotonin, making it harder for your body to utilize iron.

Before you take more iron, make sure you’re handling these things so your body can properly metabolize and utilize iron. by @foreverhealthyllc
