Grandma Re! Lord knows when I got that call I already knew before I answered what was to come. I sat in my car in the parking lot of Home Goods and cried my eyes out before I spoke to anyone. I lost my baby the same month. I was certain she was with you and in good hands. 🫶🏾 The last time we spoke and you were in your right mind, you told me you loved me, that I had a calling over my life and that I would be the one to keep our family going, along with my siblings and cousins. I told you, I had us! I meant it… I was not ready for you to leave us just yet.. I still had questions, needed time, needed your love and support, your kind words of affirmation over my life. I wake up with you on my mind more and more these days. I scared I’m going to forget what you sounded like or smelled like… I’m scared I won’t be able to justly explain to my future babies, just how beautiful of a person you truly were. I just wish I could have one day, where we could sit on the porch and talk for hours, go to bingo or watch Walker Texas Ranger and Law & Order reruns all day or I can walk into the house and see fried chicken on the stove and pecan pie. I have so much I want to say! There’s so much advice your granddaughter needs right now. There’s so much on mind. You’re the ONLY PERSON who would let me vent, uninterrupted, unbiased, and literally at any time of the day. You helped me to become the woman I am more than you may ever know. I wish I could match your temperament at times. Happy Birthday to the sweetest, silliest, most heavy handed, kind hearted Grandma ever!!! I LOVE YOU! This video brought me so much joy and made me so sad all at the same time. Thank you soooo much cuz @pecanashly !
