ATHENA TEQUILA: company catalog

Athena Tequila is an all-women collective of actors, writers, and musicians making theater with friends for the love of the game. We rehearse in backyards, basements, bars, gallery spaces, and roofs of apartment buildings to develop our craft. We aim to keep theater an active and vitalizing force in our lives and in our communities because we believe in the importance of art as a collective experience and the joy of building it together.

It’s still August 13th in my brain because I haven’t gone to sleep yet!!!

Today someone asked me to say my favorite things about Stephee and I immediately started crying LMAO

But I thought about it a little more and here are what my favorite things about Stephee are. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, she is kind, she is funny, she is talented, she is strong, she taught me how to put in a tampon through very descriptive texts, she inspired me to move to New York and she’s been my best friend since the 6th grade.

When I was in undergrad I was taking a class where we had to imagine our lives in a series of birthday dinners and our professor would tell us each age and we would have to imagine who was there and what our life could look like. I remember the one person who was always at the dinner table no matter the age my professor shouted out was Stephee. Happy birthday @stepheebonifacio can’t wait to keep sharing our birthday dinners until we’re old and gray ❤️ by @forevverheather

If you’re reading this you’re officially invited to see “An Iliad” at @gallery198_brooklyn

Poster Design: @nick.i.exum

Warning long caption incoming: I saw this show as a sophomore in college and it changed my life lol. Not only was I so captivated by the story, but the incredible actress I saw in the role (Tarah Flanagan-iykyk) made me so inspired to one day be able to give even half the performance she gave that day. AND TODAY IS THAT DAY!!

This is a story about rage, about war, about humanity and it’s about me and about you. I’m so grateful for my friends who without a question agreed to collaborate with me on this and so so so grateful to everyone who has donated and supported in any way.

OKAY- link in bio for tickets. Tickets are $20 but if for any reason that is an obstacle for you feel free to DM me for a promo code!! by @forevverheather
